None of the rulers of this age understood it. If they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

They set a day to meet with him, and they came to him where he was staying in even greater numbers. From morning until evening he explained things to them, testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus from both the law of Moses and the prophets.

Then some of those who were with us went to the tomb, and found it just as the women had said, but they did not see him.”So he said to them,“ You foolish people– how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!Wasn’t it necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and enter into his glory?”Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them the things written about himself in all the scriptures.

They will do these things because they have not known the Father or me.

Jesus replied,“ I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know me.”

among whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of those who do not believe so they would not see the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God.

Then he said to them,“ These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and the psalms must be fulfilled.”Then he opened their minds so they could understand the scriptures,

For these things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled,“ Not a bone of his will be broken.”And again another scripture says,“ They will look on the one whom they have pierced.”

Moving on from Perga, they arrived at Pisidian Antioch, and on the Sabbath day they went into the synagogue and sat down.After the reading from the law and the prophets, the leaders of the synagogue sent them a message, saying,“ Brothers, if you have any message of exhortation for the people, speak it.”

As for you, you meant to harm me, but God intended it for a good purpose, so he could preserve the lives of many people, as you can see this day.

Jesus answered them,“ You are deceived, because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God.

But they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me.

even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor, and an arrogant man. But I was treated with mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief,

How then would the scriptures that say it must happen this way be fulfilled?”At that moment Jesus said to the crowd,“ Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw? Day after day I sat teaching in the temple courts, yet you did not arrest me.But this has happened so that the scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.
