After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him:‘ I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’

God removed him and made David their king. Here is God’s witness about him.‘ David, son of Jesse, is a man dear to my heart,’ he said.‘ David will do everything I want him to do.’

And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said,‘ I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’

But God removed Saul and replaced him with David, a man about whom God said,‘ I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.’

After removing him, God raised up David their king. He testified about him:‘ I have found David the son of Jesse to be a man after my heart, who will accomplish everything I want him to do.’

because David did what was right in the sight of the Lord, and did not deviate from anything that He commanded him all the days of his life, except in the case of Uriah the Hittite.

But Samuel said to Saul,“ You have acted foolishly! You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which He commanded you, for the Lord would now have established your kingdom over Israel forever.But now your kingdom shall not endure. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has appointed him ruler over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”

So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel set out and went to Ramah.

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ How long are you going to mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, because I have chosen a king for Myself among his sons.”

He also chose His servant David And took him from the sheepfolds;From the care of the ewes with nursing lambs He brought him To shepherd Jacob His people, And Israel His inheritance.So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them with his skillful hands.

Once You spoke in vision to Your godly ones, And said,“ I have given help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people.I have found My servant David; With My holy oil I have anointed him,With whom My hand will be established; My arm also will strengthen him.The enemy will not deceive him, Nor will the son of wickedness afflict him.But I will crush his adversaries before him, And strike those who hate him.My faithfulness and My favor will be with him, And in My name his horn will be exalted.I will also place his hand on the sea, And his right hand on the rivers.He will call to Me,‘ You are my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.’I will also make him My firstborn, The highest of the kings of the earth.I will maintain My favor for him forever, And My covenant shall be confirmed to him.So I will establish his descendants forever, And his throne as the days of heaven.“ If his sons abandon My Law And do not walk in My judgments,If they violate My statutes And do not keep My commandments,Then I will punish their wrongdoing with the rod, And their guilt with afflictions.But I will not withhold My favor from him, Nor deal falsely in My faithfulness.I will not violate My covenant, Nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David.His descendants shall endure forever, And his throne as the sun before Me.It shall be established forever like the moon, And a witness in the sky is faithful.” Selah

“ And My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances, and keep My statutes and follow them.And they will live on the land that I gave to My servant Jacob, in which your fathers lived; and they will live on it, they, and their sons and their sons’ sons, forever; and My servant David will be their leader forever.

He walked in all the sins of his father which he had committed before him; and his heart was not wholly devoted to the Lord his God, like the heart of his father David.

So Samuel said to him,“ The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to your neighbor, who is better than you.

Then the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying,“ It was the men of Jabesh gilead who buried Saul.”

But Samuel said to Saul,“ I will not return with you; for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.”

For rebellion is as reprehensible as the sin of divination, And insubordination is as reprehensible as false religion and idolatry. Since you have rejected the word of the Lord, He has also rejected you from being king.”

By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he was attested to be righteous, God testifying about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still speaks.By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for before he was taken up, he was attested to have been pleasing to God.

And God, who knows the heart, testified to them giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us;

David found favor in God’s sight, and asked that he might find a dwelling place for the house of Jacob.

Now then, this is what you shall say to My servant David:‘ This is what the Lord of armies says:“ I Myself took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be leader over My people Israel.

So Saul died with his three sons, his armor bearer, and all his men on that day together.

Where then is your king, That he might save you in all your cities; And your judges, to whom you said,“ Give me a king and princes”?I gave you a king in My anger, And took him away in My wrath.

But if you still do evil, both you and your king will be swept away.”

but My favor shall not depart from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from you.

So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them before the Lord in Hebron; then they anointed David king over Israel.David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned for forty years.At Hebron he reigned over Judah for seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned for thirty three years over all Israel and Judah.

then My covenant with David My servant may also be broken, so that he will not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levitical priests, My ministers.

So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he committed against the Lord, because of the word of the Lord which he did not keep; and also because he asked counsel of a medium, making inquiry of her,

Yet, the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me from all the household of my father to be king over Israel forever. For He has chosen Judah to be a leader; and in the house of Judah, my father’s house, and among the sons of my father He took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.Of all my sons( for the Lord has given me many sons), He has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.

“ Then I will appoint over them one shepherd, My servant David, and he will feed them; he will feed them himself and be their shepherd.

Afterward the sons of Israel will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king; and they will come trembling to the Lord and to His goodness in the last days.

“ But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

then I would reject the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, so as not to take from his descendants rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But I will restore their fortunes and have mercy on them.’ ”

“ I regret that I have made Saul king, because he has turned back from following Me and has not carried out My commands.” And Samuel was furious and cried out to the Lord all night.

Samuel said,“ But why ask me, since the Lord has abandoned you and has become your enemy?
