And it shall be, when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand Jehovah brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:

Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: Who is a great god like unto God?Thou art the God that doest wonders: Thou hast made known thy strength among the peoples.Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, The sons of Jacob and Joseph.[ SelahThe waters saw thee, O God; The waters saw thee, they were afraid: The depths also trembled.The clouds poured out water; The skies sent out a sound: Thine arrows also went abroad.The voice of thy thunder was in the whirlwind; The lightnings lightened the world: The earth trembled and shook.Thy way was in the sea, And thy paths in the great waters, And thy footsteps were not known.Thou leddest thy people like a flock, By the hand of Moses and Aaron.

Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thy heart, dost thou go in to possess their land; but for the wickedness of these nations Jehovah thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may establish the word which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

Now Jehovah said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto the land that I will show thee:and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing:and I will bless them that bless thee, and him that curseth thee will I curse: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
