a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always.

Give ear, O my people, to my law; Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old,

“ Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know—

And they listened to him until this word, and then they raised their voices and said,“ Away with such a fellow from the earth, for he is not fit to live!”

Bless the Lord, O house of Levi! You who fear the Lord, bless the Lord!

But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them,“ Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words.

Hear this, all peoples; Give ear, all inhabitants of the world,Both low and high, Rich and poor together.My mouth shall speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart shall give understanding.

and He said to them:“ Set your hearts on all the words which I testify among you today, which you shall command your children to be careful to observe— all the words of this law.For it is not a futile thing for you, because it is your life, and by this word you shall prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess.”

that they may fear You all the days that they live in the land which You gave to our fathers.

“ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’

Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said,“ It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

“ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.”’

So when he had given him permission, Paul stood on the stairs and motioned with his hand to the people. And when there was a great silence, he spoke to them in the Hebrew language, saying,“ Brethren and fathers, hear my defense before you now.”

So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.Now when the congregation had broken up, many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

“ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”’

He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

God shall bless us, And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.

But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord, And of justice and might, To declare to Jacob his transgression And to Israel his sin.Now hear this, You heads of the house of Jacob And rulers of the house of Israel, Who abhor justice And pervert all equity,

So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people:“ Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?

“ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.”’

Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, That glory may dwell in our land.

And His mercy is on those who fear him from generation to generation.

And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander motioned with his hand, and wanted to make his defense to the people.

But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying,“ Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation?
