Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching;

But Paul and Barnabas remained in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

And when he learned that he belonged to Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him over to Herod, who was himself in Jerusalem at that time.When Herod saw Jesus, he was very glad, for he had long desired to see him, because he had heard about him, and he was hoping to see some sign done by him.So he questioned him at some length, but he made no answer.The chief priests and the scribes stood by, vehemently accusing him.And Herod with his soldiers treated him with contempt and mocked him. Then, arraying him in splendid clothing, he sent him back to Pilate.

and from there they sailed to Antioch, where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work that they had fulfilled.And when they arrived and gathered the church together, they declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.

Or is it only Barnabas and I who have no right to refrain from working for a living?

And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying.

And Saul approved of his execution. And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.Devout men buried Stephen and made great lamentation over him.But Saul was ravaging the church, and entering house after house, he dragged off men and women and committed them to prison.

But Herod the tetrarch, who had been reproved by him for Herodias, his brother’s wife, and for all the evil things that Herod had done,added this to them all, that he locked up John in prison.

All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household.

At that time Herod the tetrarch heard about the fame of Jesus,and he said to his servants,“ This is John the Baptist. He has been raised from the dead; that is why these miraculous powers are at work in him.”For Herod had seized John and bound him and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife,because John had been saying to him,“ It is not lawful for you to have her.”And though he wanted to put him to death, he feared the people, because they held him to be a prophet.But when Herod’s birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced before the company and pleased Herod,so that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she might ask.Prompted by her mother, she said,“ Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.”And the king was sorry, but because of his oaths and his guests he commanded it to be given.He sent and had John beheaded in the prison,

Timothy, my fellow worker, greets you; so do Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen.

But Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him

And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.

Now those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except Jews.But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on coming to Antioch spoke to the Hellenists also, preaching the Lord Jesus.

and when James and Cephas and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave the right hand of fellowship to Barnabas and me, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest

And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem when they had completed their service, bringing with them John, whose other name was Mark.
