“ Then people will hand you over to be treated badly and killed. All nations will hate you because of me.

The orders also commanded people to take everything that belonged to the Jews.

“ But not during the feast,” they said.“ The people may stir up trouble.”

So they arrested them and put them in the public jail.

They did what your power and purpose had already decided should happen.
