After Herod had a thorough search made for him and did not find him, he cross- examined the guards and ordered that they be executed. Then Herod went from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there.

So Herod had them look everywhere for Peter. But they didn’t find him. Then Herod questioned the guards closely. He ordered that they be put to death. Then Herod went from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there.

And after Herod searched for him and did not find him, he examined the sentries and ordered that they should be put to death. Then he went down from Judea to Caesarea and spent time there.

狱警一醒，看见监门全开，以为囚犯已经逃走，就拔刀要自杀。

末底改仍回到朝门，哈曼却忧忧闷闷地蒙着头，急忙回家去了。

希律捉了彼得，押在监里，交给四班士兵看守，每班四个人，企图要在逾越节后把他提出来，当着百姓办他。

于是众祭司长商议连拉撒路也要杀了，因为有许多犹太人为了拉撒路的缘故，开始背离他们，信了耶稣。

后来有人在亚锁都遇见腓利；他走遍那地方，在各城宣扬福音，一直到凯撒利亚。

他们走后，忽然主的使者在约瑟梦中向他显现，说：“起来！带着小孩子和他母亲逃往埃及，住在那里，等我的指示；因为希律要搜寻那小孩子来杀害他。”

王所问的事很难，除了不与血肉之躯同住的上帝，没有人能在王面前解释。”王因这事生气，大大震怒，吩咐灭绝巴比伦所有的智慧人。命令发出，智慧人将要被杀，人就寻找但以理和他的同伴，要杀他们。

士兵的意思要把囚犯都杀了，免得有游水脱逃的。

恶人窥探义人，想要杀他。耶和华必不把他交在恶人手中，当审判的时候，也不定他的罪。

王吩咐王的儿子耶拉篾、亚斯列的儿子西莱雅和亚伯叠的儿子示利米雅，去捉拿巴录文士和耶利米先知；耶和华却将他们隐藏起来。

于是以色列王生气，忧闷地回撒玛利亚，到自己的宫去了。

她们去的时候，看守的兵有几个进城去，把所发生的事都报告祭司长。祭司长和长老聚集商议，就拿许多银钱给士兵，说：“你们要这样说：‘夜间我们睡觉的时候，他的门徒来把他偷去了。’若是这话被总督听见，有我们劝他，保你们无事。”士兵收了银钱，就照所嘱咐他们的去做。这话就在犹太人中间流传，直到今日。

希律见自己被博学之士愚弄，极其愤怒，差人将伯利恒城里和四境所有的男孩，根据他向博学之士仔细查问到的时间，凡两岁以内的，都杀尽了。

第二天，我们离开那里，来到凯撒利亚，就进了传福音的腓利家里，和他同住；他是那七个执事里的一个。

过了些日子，亚基帕王和百妮基来到凯撒利亚，拜访非斯都。

大卫住在旷野的山寨里，在西弗旷野的山区。扫罗天天寻索大卫，上帝却不将大卫交在他手里。

希律将要提他出来的前一夜，彼得被两条铁链锁着，睡在两个士兵当中；门前还有警卫看守。
