After Herod had a thorough search made for him and did not find him, he cross- examined the guards and ordered that they be executed. Then Herod went from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there.

So Herod had them look everywhere for Peter. But they didn’t find him. Then Herod questioned the guards closely. He ordered that they be put to death. Then Herod went from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there.

And after Herod searched for him and did not find him, he examined the sentries and ordered that they should be put to death. Then he went down from Judea to Caesarea and spent time there.

獄卒醒來，看見監獄的門都開了，以為囚犯們已經逃跑了，就拔出刀來要自殺。

末迪凱回到御門那裡；哈曼卻心中悲哀，蒙著頭急促回到家。

希律抓了彼得，把他關進監獄，交給四班士兵看守，每班四個人，打算在逾越節以後把他提到民眾面前審判。

於是祭司長們就商議，連拉撒路也要殺掉，因為有許多猶太人為了拉撒路的緣故，離開他們，信了耶穌。

後來，腓利出現在阿佐托。他走遍各個城鎮傳揚福音，直到他來到凱撒里亞。

那些博士離開以後，忽然主的一位天使在約瑟夢中顯現，說：「起來，帶著孩子和他的母親逃往埃及，留在那裡，直到我再指示你，因為希律要搜尋這孩子並殺害他。」

王所問的事，是件難事，除了不與屬肉體的人住在一起的神明，沒有誰能在王面前講明它。」王因此發怒，極其震怒，下令消滅巴比倫的所有智慧人。法令發出，要殺掉智慧人；人就尋找但以理和他的同伴，要殺掉他們。

士兵們的計劃是要把囚犯殺了，免得有人游泳逃脫。

惡人窺伺義人，尋機置他於死地；但耶和華必不將他離棄在惡人的手中；在審判的時候，也不定他有罪。

她們離去的時候，正好有一些衛兵進了城，把所發生的事都報告給祭司長們。祭司長們就與長老們一起聚集商議，給了士兵們許多銀錢，說：「你們要說：『他的門徒們夜裡來，趁我們睡著的時候，把他偷走了。』如果這事被總督聽見了，我們會說服他，保證你們無事。」士兵們收了銀錢，就照所指示的去做。於是這說法就流傳在猶太人當中，直到今天。

希律發現自己受了博士們的愚弄，就十分惱怒。於是，他按照從博士們那裡所詢問到的時間，派人把伯利恆城裡和周圍各個地區內兩歲以下的男孩，全都殺了。

第二天我們離開那裡，來到凱撒里亞，進了傳福音者腓利的家，住在他那裡，他是那七位執事中的一位。

過了幾天，阿格里帕王和百妮基到達凱撒里亞，問候菲斯特斯。

大衛住在曠野的各個要塞裡，或住在西弗曠野的山地。掃羅天天尋索大衛，神卻不把大衛交在他手中。

希律要把彼得提出來審判的前一夜，彼得被兩條鐵鏈捆鎖，睡在兩個士兵中間，又有一些衛兵在監獄門前看守著。
