千夫長答應了，保羅就站在臺階上向眾人揮手示意，他們都安靜下來，保羅用希伯來話對他們說：

這時，人群中的猶太人把亞歷山大推到前面，請他解釋。亞歷山大舉手示意大家安靜，聽他發言。

他們報告完了，雅各站起來說：「弟兄們，請聽我說。

保羅站起來向大家揮手示意，說：「各位以色列同胞和各位敬畏上帝的外族朋友們，請聽我說。

當時被譽為教會柱石的雅各、彼得和約翰明白了上帝賜給我的恩典之後，就與我和巴拿巴用右手行相交之禮，讓我們向外族人傳福音，他們向受割禮的人傳福音。

從雅各那裡來的人還沒有抵達之前，彼得和外族的信徒一起吃飯。但那些人抵達以後，彼得因為怕那些堅持行割禮的猶太人批評，就與外族的信徒分開了。

第二天，保羅和我們去見雅各，眾長老都在那裡。

我也見了主耶穌的弟弟雅各，此外沒有見過其他使徒。

隨後，祂向雅各顯現，又向眾使徒顯現；

之後，耶穌周遊加利利，不願去猶太地區，因為猶太人想要殺祂。

後來他出來了，卻成了啞巴，不能說話，只能打手勢，大家意識到他在聖殿裡看見了異象。

二人離開監獄，來到呂底亞家中，見了弟兄姊妹，勸勉一番之後，便離開了那裡。

敬畏上帝的人啊，你們都來聽吧，我要告訴你們祂為我所做的事。

我要在耶和華的子民面前還我向祂許的願。耶和華的眼目顧惜祂聖民的死亡。

如果你們在一個地方遭迫害，就避到另一個地方。我實在告訴你們，沒等你們走遍以色列的城鎮，人子就來了。

要垂聽被囚之人的哀歎，釋放被判死刑的人。這樣，萬族萬國聚集、敬拜耶和華時，人們必在錫安傳揚祂的名，在耶路撒冷讚美祂。

所以耶穌不再公開地在猶太人中間露面。祂離開伯大尼，前往靠近曠野的地方，到了以法蓮城，就和門徒住下來。

於是，他們就拿起石頭要打祂，耶穌卻避開他們，離開了聖殿。

我是作上帝和主耶穌基督奴僕的雅各，問候散居各地的十二支派的人。

後來，耶穌到了約旦河東岸約翰從前施洗的地方，在那裡住下來。

祂為受壓制的人伸冤，賜食物給饑餓的人，使被囚者得自由。

他們當稱謝耶和華的慈愛，稱謝祂為世人所行的奇事。他們當向祂獻上感恩祭，歡然歌頌祂的作為。
