When Peter had come to himself, he said,“ Now I truly know that the Lord has sent out his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from everything the Jewish people were expecting.”

彼得乃悟曰、今我真知主遣其使、拯我脫希律手、與猶太民所冀者也、

彼得悟曰、主果遣使者、拯我出希律手、不遂猶太民之欲、我今誠知之矣、

彼得悟曰、我今誠知天主果遣其使者、拯我出希律手、不使猶太民遂其所望、

伯鐸祿憬悟曰：『予今乃真知主遣天神援予於希祿之手、而脫我於猶太人之所冀也。』

Then Peter came to himself and said,“ Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”

Then Peter realized what had happened. He said,“ Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent his angel. He set me free from Herod’s power. He saved me from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”

Peter finally came to his senses.“ It’s really true!” he said.“ The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what the Jewish leaders had planned to do to me!”

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s grasp and from all that the Jewish people expected.”

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent forth His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”

And when Peter had come to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a truth, that the Lord hath sent forth his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

Then Peter came to himself and said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel and rescued me from Herod’s grasp and from all that the Jewish people expected.”

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and[ from] all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from everything the Jewish people were expecting to happen.”

But when he came to himself he said,‘ How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough to spare, and I’m dying with hunger!

My God has sent his angel, and has shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not hurt me; because as before him innocence was found in me; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.”

Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said,“ Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel, and delivered his servants who trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and have yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

Behold, Yahweh’s eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness,

the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,

Yahweh’s angel encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.

For he will stand at the right hand of the needy, to save him from those who judge his soul.

He answered,“ Look, I see four men loose, walking in the middle of the fire, and they are unharmed. The appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.”

And behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side, and woke him up, saying,“ Stand up quickly!” His chains fell off his hands.

Yahweh redeems the soul of his servants. None of those who take refuge in him shall be condemned.

David spoke to Yahweh the words of this song in the day that Yahweh delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul,

You who love Yahweh, hate evil! He preserves the souls of his saints. He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

Yahweh said to Abraham,“ Why did Sarah laugh, saying,‘ Will I really bear a child when I am old?’

He said to Abram,“ Know for sure that your offspring will live as foreigners in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them. They will afflict them four hundred years.

Yahweh will preserve him, and keep him alive. He shall be blessed on the earth, and he will not surrender him to the will of his enemies.

But an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors by night, and brought them out and said,

He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven no evil will touch you.

For Yahweh’s eyes run back and forth throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. You have done foolishly in this; for from now on you will have wars.”

When it was day, some of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink until they had killed Paul.There were more than forty people who had made this conspiracy.They came to the chief priests and the elders, and said,“ We have bound ourselves under a great curse to taste nothing until we have killed Paul.Now therefore, you with the council inform the commanding officer that he should bring him down to you tomorrow, as though you were going to judge his case more exactly. We are ready to kill him before he comes near.”But Paul’s sister’s son heard they were lying in wait, and he came and entered into the barracks and told Paul.Paul summoned one of the centurions, and said,“ Bring this young man to the commanding officer, for he has something to tell him.”So he took him, and brought him to the commanding officer, and said,“ Paul, the prisoner, summoned me and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to tell you.”The commanding officer took him by the hand, and going aside, asked him privately,“ What is it that you have to tell me?”He said,“ The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though intending to inquire somewhat more accurately concerning him.Therefore don’t yield to them, for more than forty men lie in wait for him, who have bound themselves under a curse to neither eat nor drink until they have killed him. Now they are ready, looking for the promise from you.”So the commanding officer let the young man go, charging him,“ Tell no one that you have revealed these things to me.”He called to himself two of the centurions, and said,“ Prepare two hundred soldiers to go as far as Caesarea, with seventy horsemen, and two hundred men armed with spears, at the third hour of the night.”He asked them to provide animals, that they might set Paul on one, and bring him safely to Felix the governor.He wrote a letter like this:“ Claudius Lysias to the most excellent governor Felix: Greetings.“ This man was seized by the Jews, and was about to be killed by them, when I came with the soldiers and rescued him, having learned that he was a Roman.Desiring to know the cause why they accused him, I brought him down to their council.I found him to be accused about questions of their law, but not to be charged with anything worthy of death or of imprisonment.When I was told that the Jews lay in wait for the man, I sent him to you immediately, charging his accusers also to bring their accusations against him before you. Farewell.”

if the men of my tent have not said,‘ Who can find one who has not been filled with his meat?’

Abimelech called Isaac, and said,“ Behold, surely she is your wife. Why did you say,‘ She is my sister?’” Isaac said to him,“ Because I said,‘ Lest I die because of her.’”

Aren’t they all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

But when two years were fulfilled, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, and desiring to gain favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul in bonds.

For we don’t desire to have you uninformed, brothers, concerning our affliction which happened to us in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver; on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us;

asking a favor against him, that he would summon him to Jerusalem; plotting to kill him on the way.However Festus answered that Paul should be kept in custody at Caesarea, and that he himself was about to depart shortly.“ Let them therefore”, he said,“ that are in power among you go down with me, and if there is anything wrong in the man, let them accuse him.”

But Festus, desiring to gain favor with the Jews, answered Paul and said,“ Are you willing to go up to Jerusalem, and be judged by me there concerning these things?”
