When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from everything the Jewish people were expecting to happen.”

彼得乃悟曰、今我真知主遣其使、拯我脫希律手、與猶太民所冀者也、

彼得悟曰、主果遣使者、拯我出希律手、不遂猶太民之欲、我今誠知之矣、

彼得悟曰、我今誠知天主果遣其使者、拯我出希律手、不使猶太民遂其所望、

伯鐸祿憬悟曰：『予今乃真知主遣天神援予於希祿之手、而脫我於猶太人之所冀也。』

Then Peter came to himself and said,“ Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”

Then Peter realized what had happened. He said,“ Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent his angel. He set me free from Herod’s power. He saved me from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”

Peter finally came to his senses.“ It’s really true!” he said.“ The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what the Jewish leaders had planned to do to me!”

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s grasp and from all that the Jewish people expected.”

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent forth His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”

And when Peter had come to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a truth, that the Lord hath sent forth his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

Then Peter came to himself and said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel and rescued me from Herod’s grasp and from all that the Jewish people expected.”

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and[ from] all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

When Peter had come to himself, he said,“ Now I truly know that the Lord has sent out his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from everything the Jewish people were expecting.”

But when he came to his senses he said,‘ How many of my father’s hired workers have food enough to spare, but here I am dying from hunger!

My God sent his angel and closed the lions’ mouths so that they have not harmed me, because I was found to be innocent before him. Nor have I done any harm to you, O king.”

Nebuchadnezzar exclaimed,“ Praised be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent forth his angel and has rescued his servants who trusted in him, ignoring the edict of the king and giving up their bodies rather than serve or pay homage to any god other than their God!

Look, the LORD takes notice of his loyal followers, those who wait for him to demonstrate his faithfulness

– if so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from their trials, and to reserve the unrighteous for punishment at the day of judgment,

The LORD’s angel camps around the LORD’s loyal followers and delivers them.

because he stands at the right hand of the needy, to deliver him from those who threaten his life.

He answered,“ But I see four men, untied and walking around in the midst of the fire! No harm has come to them! And the appearance of the fourth is like that of a god!”

Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared, and a light shone in the prison cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up, saying,“ Get up quickly!” And the chains fell off Peter’s wrists.

The LORD rescues his servants; all who take shelter in him escape punishment.

David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD rescued him from the power of all his enemies, including Saul.

You who love the LORD, hate evil! He protects the lives of his faithful followers; he delivers them from the power of the wicked.

The LORD said to Abraham,“ Why did Sarah laugh and say,‘ Will I really have a child when I am old?’

Then the LORD said to Abram,“ Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a foreign country. They will be enslaved and oppressed for four hundred years.

May the LORD protect him and save his life! May he be blessed in the land! Do not turn him over to his enemies!

But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the prison, led them out, and said,

He will deliver you from six calamities; yes, in seven no evil will touch you.

Certainly the LORD watches the whole earth carefully and is ready to strengthen those who are devoted to him. You have acted foolishly in this matter; from now on you will have war.

When morning came, the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink anything until they had killed Paul.There were more than forty of them who formed this conspiracy.They went to the chief priests and the elders and said,“ We have bound ourselves with a solemn oath not to partake of anything until we have killed Paul.So now you and the council request the commanding officer to bring him down to you, as if you were going to determine his case by conducting a more thorough inquiry. We are ready to kill him before he comes near this place.”But when the son of Paul’s sister heard about the ambush, he came and entered the barracks and told Paul.Paul called one of the centurions and said,“ Take this young man to the commanding officer, for he has something to report to him.”So the centurion took him and brought him to the commanding officer and said,“ The prisoner Paul called me and asked me to bring this young man to you because he has something to tell you.”The commanding officer took him by the hand, withdrew privately, and asked,“ What is it that you want to report to me?”He replied,“ The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as if they were going to inquire more thoroughly about him.So do not let them persuade you to do this, because more than forty of them are lying in ambush for him. They have bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink anything until they have killed him, and now they are ready, waiting for you to agree to their request.”Then the commanding officer sent the young man away, directing him,“ Tell no one that you have reported these things to me.”Then he summoned two of the centurions and said,“ Make ready two hundred soldiers to go to Caesarea along with seventy horsemen and two hundred spearmen by nine o’clock tonight,and provide mounts for Paul to ride so that he may be brought safely to Felix the governor.”He wrote a letter that went like this:Claudius Lysias to His Excellency Governor Felix, greetings.This man was seized by the Jews and they were about to kill him, when I came up with the detachment and rescued him, because I had learned that he was a Roman citizen.Since I wanted to know what charge they were accusing him of, I brought him down to their council.I found he was accused with reference to controversial questions about their law, but no charge against him deserved death or imprisonment.When I was informed there would be a plot against this man, I sent him to you at once, also ordering his accusers to state their charges against him before you.

if the members of my household have never said,‘ If only there were someone who has not been satisfied from Job’s meat!’–

So Abimelech summoned Isaac and said,“ She is really your wife! Why did you say,‘ She is my sister’?” Isaac replied,“ Because I thought someone might kill me to get her.”

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to serve those who will inherit salvation?

After two years had passed, Porcius Festus succeeded Felix, and because he wanted to do the Jews a favor, Felix left Paul in prison.

For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, regarding the affliction that happened to us in the province of Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of living.Indeed we felt as if the sentence of death had been passed against us, so that we would not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead.He delivered us from so great a risk of death, and he will deliver us. We have set our hope on him that he will deliver us yet again,

Requesting him to do them a favor against Paul, they urged Festus to summon him to Jerusalem, planning an ambush to kill him along the way.Then Festus replied that Paul was being kept at Caesarea, and he himself intended to go there shortly.“ So,” he said,“ let your leaders go down there with me, and if this man has done anything wrong, they may bring charges against him.”

But Festus, wanting to do the Jews a favor, asked Paul,“ Are you willing to go up to Jerusalem and be tried before me there on these charges?”
