When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s grasp and from all that the Jewish people expected.”

彼得乃悟曰、今我真知主遣其使、拯我脫希律手、與猶太民所冀者也、

彼得悟曰、主果遣使者、拯我出希律手、不遂猶太民之欲、我今誠知之矣、

彼得悟曰、我今誠知天主果遣其使者、拯我出希律手、不使猶太民遂其所望、

伯鐸祿憬悟曰：『予今乃真知主遣天神援予於希祿之手、而脫我於猶太人之所冀也。』

Then Peter came to himself and said,“ Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”

Then Peter realized what had happened. He said,“ Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent his angel. He set me free from Herod’s power. He saved me from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”

Peter finally came to his senses.“ It’s really true!” he said.“ The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what the Jewish leaders had planned to do to me!”

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent forth His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”

And when Peter had come to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a truth, that the Lord hath sent forth his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

Then Peter came to himself and said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel and rescued me from Herod’s grasp and from all that the Jewish people expected.”

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and[ from] all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from everything the Jewish people were expecting to happen.”

When Peter had come to himself, he said,“ Now I truly know that the Lord has sent out his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from everything the Jewish people were expecting.”

When he came to his senses, he said,‘ How many of my father’s hired workers have more than enough food, and here I am dying of hunger!

My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths; and they haven’t harmed me, for I was found innocent before him. And also before you, Your Majesty, I have not done harm.”

Nebuchadnezzar exclaimed,“ Praise to the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! He sent his angel and rescued his servants who trusted in him. They violated the king’s command and risked their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.

But look, the LORD keeps his eye on those who fear him— those who depend on his faithful love

then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,

The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and rescues them.

For he stands at the right hand of the needy to save him from those who would condemn him.

He exclaimed,“ Look! I see four men, not tied, walking around in the fire unharmed; and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”

Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared, and a light shone in the cell. Striking Peter on the side, he woke him up and said,“ Quick, get up!” And the chains fell off his wrists.

The LORD redeems the life of his servants, and all who take refuge in him will not be punished.

David spoke the words of this song to the LORD on the day the LORD rescued him from the grasp of all his enemies and from the grasp of Saul.

You who love the LORD, hate evil! He protects the lives of his faithful ones; he rescues them from the power of the wicked.

But the LORD asked Abraham,“ Why did Sarah laugh, saying,‘ Can I really have a baby when I’m old?’

Then the LORD said to Abram,“ Know this for certain: Your offspring will be resident aliens for four hundred years in a land that does not belong to them and will be enslaved and oppressed.

When it was morning, the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves under a curse not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.There were more than forty who had formed this plot.These men went to the chief priests and elders and said,“ We have bound ourselves under a solemn curse that we won’t eat anything until we have killed Paul.So now you, along with the Sanhedrin, make a request to the commander that he bring him down to you as if you were going to investigate his case more thoroughly. But, before he gets near, we are ready to kill him.”But the son of Paul’s sister, hearing about their ambush, came and entered the barracks and reported it to Paul.Paul called one of the centurions and said,“ Take this young man to the commander, because he has something to report to him.”So he took him, brought him to the commander, and said,“ The prisoner Paul called me and asked me to bring this young man to you, because he has something to tell you.”The commander took him by the hand, led him aside, and inquired privately,“ What is it you have to report to me?”“ The Jews,” he said,“ have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the Sanhedrin tomorrow, as though they are going to hold a somewhat more careful inquiry about him.Don’t let them persuade you, because there are more than forty of them lying in ambush— men who have bound themselves under a curse not to eat or drink until they have killed him. Now they are ready, waiting for your consent.”So the commander dismissed the young man and instructed him,“ Don’t tell anyone that you have informed me about this.”He summoned two of his centurions and said,“ Get two hundred soldiers ready with seventy cavalry and two hundred spearmen to go to Caesarea at nine tonight.Also provide mounts to ride so that Paul may be brought safely to Felix the governor.”He wrote the following letter:Claudius Lysias, To the most excellent governor Felix: Greetings.When this man had been seized by the Jews and was about to be killed by them, I arrived with my troops and rescued him because I learned that he is a Roman citizen.Wanting to know the charge they were accusing him of, I brought him down before their Sanhedrin.I found out that the accusations were concerning questions of their law, and that there was no charge that merited death or imprisonment.When I was informed that there was a plot against the man, I sent him to you right away. I also ordered his accusers to state their case against him in your presence.

Haven’t the members of my household said,“ Who is there who has not had enough to eat at Job’s table?”

Abimelech sent for Isaac and said,“ So she is really your wife! How could you say,‘ She is my sister’?” Isaac answered him,“ Because I thought I might die on account of her.”

Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve those who are going to inherit salvation?

After two years had passed, Porcius Festus succeeded Felix, and because Felix wanted to do the Jews a favor, he left Paul in prison.

We don’t want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, of our affliction that took place in Asia. We were completely overwhelmed— beyond our strength— so that we even despaired of life itself.Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death, so that we would not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead.He has delivered us from such a terrible death, and he will deliver us. We have put our hope in him that he will deliver us again

asking for a favor against Paul, that Festus summon him to Jerusalem. They were, in fact, preparing an ambush along the road to kill him.Festus, however, answered that Paul should be kept at Caesarea, and that he himself was about to go there shortly.“ Therefore,” he said,“ let those of you who have authority go down with me and accuse him, if he has done anything wrong.”

But Festus, wanting to do the Jews a favor, replied to Paul,“ Are you willing to go up to Jerusalem to be tried before me there on these charges?”
