And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a truth, that the Lord hath sent forth his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

彼得悟曰、主果遣使者、拯我出希律手、不遂猶太民之欲、我今誠知之矣、

彼得悟曰、我今誠知天主果遣其使者、拯我出希律手、不使猶太民遂其所望、

伯鐸祿憬悟曰：『予今乃真知主遣天神援予於希祿之手、而脫我於猶太人之所冀也。』

Then Peter came to himself and said,“ Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”

Then Peter realized what had happened. He said,“ Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent his angel. He set me free from Herod’s power. He saved me from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”

Peter finally came to his senses.“ It’s really true!” he said.“ The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what the Jewish leaders had planned to do to me!”

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s grasp and from all that the Jewish people expected.”

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent forth His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”

And when Peter had come to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”

Then Peter came to himself and said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel and rescued me from Herod’s grasp and from all that the Jewish people expected.”

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and[ from] all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from everything the Jewish people were expecting to happen.”

When Peter had come to himself, he said,“ Now I truly know that the Lord has sent out his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from everything the Jewish people were expecting.”

But when he came to himself he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish here with hunger!

My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not hurt me; forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

Nebuchadnezzar spake and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed- nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and have yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

Behold, the eye of Jehovah is upon them that fear him, Upon them that hope in his lovingkindness;

the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment unto the day of judgment;

The angel of Jehovah encampeth round about them that fear him, And delivereth them.

For he will stand at the right hand of the needy, To save him from them that judge his soul.

He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the aspect of the fourth is like a son of the gods.

And behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shined in the cell: and he smote Peter on the side, and awoke him, saying, Rise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

Jehovah redeemeth the soul of his servants; And none of them that take refuge in him shall be condemned.

And David spake unto Jehovah the words of this song in the day that Jehovah delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

O ye that love Jehovah, hate evil: He preserveth the souls of his saints; He delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

And Jehovah said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, who am old?

And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be sojourners in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;

Jehovah will preserve him, and keep him alive, And he shall be blessed upon the earth; And deliver not thou him unto the will of his enemies.

But an angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them out, and said,

He will deliver thee in six troubles; Yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.

For the eyes of Jehovah run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly; for from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

And when it was day, the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.And they were more than forty that made this conspiracy.And they came to the chief priests and the elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, to taste nothing until we have killed Paul.Now therefore do ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you, as though ye would judge of his case more exactly: and we, before he comes near, are ready to slay him.But Paul’s sister’s son heard of their lying in wait, and he came and entered into the castle and told Paul.And Paul called unto him one of the centurions, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain; for he hath something to tell him.So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and saith, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and asked me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say to thee.And the chief captain took him by the hand, and going aside asked him privately, What is it that thou hast to tell me?And he said, The Jews have agreed to ask thee to bring down Paul tomorrow unto the council, as though thou wouldest inquire somewhat more exactly concerning him.Do not thou therefore yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, who have bound themselves under a curse, neither to eat nor to drink till they have slain him: and now are they ready, looking for the promise from thee.So the chief captain let the young man go, charging him, Tell no man that thou hast signified these things to me.And he called unto him two of the centurions, and said, Make ready two hundred soldiers to go as far as Cæsarea, and horsemen threescore and ten, and spearmen two hundred, at the third hour of the night:and he bade them provide beasts, that they might set Paul thereon, and bring him safe unto Felix the governor.And he wrote a letter after this form:Claudius Lysias unto the most excellent governor Felix, greeting.This man was seized by the Jews, and was about to be slain of them, when I came upon them with the soldiers and rescued him, having learned that he was a Roman.And desiring to know the cause wherefore they accused him, I brought him down unto their council:whom I found to be accused about questions of their law, but to have nothing laid to his charge worthy of death or of bonds.And when it was shown to me that there would be a plot against the man, I sent him to thee forthwith, charging his accusers also to speak against him before thee.

If the men of my tent have not said, Who can find one that hath not been filled with his meat?

And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife: and how saidst thou, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die because of her.

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation?

But when two years were fulfilled, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus; and desiring to gain favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul in bonds.

For we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning our affliction which befell us in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, insomuch that we despaired even of life:yea, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raiseth the dead:who delivered us out of so great a death, and will deliver: on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us;

asking a favor against him, that he would send for him to Jerusalem; laying a plot to kill him on the way.Howbeit Festus answered, that Paul was kept in charge at Cæsarea, and that he himself was about to depart thither shortly.Let them therefore, saith he, that are of power among you go down with me, and if there is anything amiss in the man, let them accuse him.

But Festus, desiring to gain favor with the Jews, answered Paul and said, Wilt thou go up to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these things before me?
