“‘ No, Lord,’ I replied.‘ I have never eaten anything that our Jewish laws have declared impure or unclean.’

予曰：「主、不可、俗物不潔、予未嘗入口也。」

But I said,‘ Not so, Lord! For nothing common or unclean has at any time entered my mouth.’

But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath ever entered into my mouth.

“‘ No, Lord!’ I said.‘ For nothing common or ritually unclean has ever entered my mouth!’

But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.

But I said,‘ Certainly not, Lord, for nothing defiled or ritually unclean has ever entered my mouth!’

But I said,‘ Not so, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.’

I know and am convinced on the authority of the Lord Jesus that no food, in and of itself, is wrong to eat. But if someone believes it is wrong, then for that person it is wrong.

They noticed that some of his disciples failed to follow the Jewish ritual of hand washing before eating.

By these instructions you will know what is unclean and clean, and which animals may be eaten and which may not be eaten.”

You may no longer stay here in the Lord’s land. Instead, you will return to Egypt, and in Assyria you will eat food that is ceremonially unclean.

You must distinguish between what is sacred and what is common, between what is ceremonially unclean and what is clean.

For the believing wife brings holiness to her marriage, and the believing husband brings holiness to his marriage. Otherwise, your children would not be holy, but now they are holy.

Your servants the prophets warned us when they said,‘ The land you are entering to possess is totally defiled by the detestable practices of the people living there. From one end to the other, the land is filled with corruption.Don’t let your daughters marry their sons! Don’t take their daughters as wives for your sons. Don’t ever promote the peace and prosperity of those nations. If you follow these instructions, you will be strong and will enjoy the good things the land produces, and you will leave this prosperity to your children forever.’
