But I said,‘ Not so, Lord! For nothing common or unclean has at any time entered my mouth.’

But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath ever entered into my mouth.

“‘ No, Lord!’ I said.‘ For nothing common or ritually unclean has ever entered my mouth!’

But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.

But I said,‘ Certainly not, Lord, for nothing defiled or ritually unclean has ever entered my mouth!’

But I said,‘ Not so, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.’

I am absolutely sure that nothing is“ unclean” in itself. The Lord Jesus has convinced me of this. But someone may consider a thing to be“ unclean.” If they do, it is“ unclean” for them.

They saw some of his disciples eating food with“ unclean” hands. That means they were not washed.

You must be able to tell the difference between what is“ clean” and what is not. You must also be able to tell the difference between living creatures that can be eaten and those that can’t.’ ”

You won’t remain in the Lord’ s land. Ephraim, you will return to Egypt. You will eat“ unclean” food in Assyria.

This is so that you can tell the difference between what is holy and what is not. You must be able to tell the difference between what is‘ clean’ and what is not.

The unbelieving husband has been made holy through his wife. The unbelieving wife has been made holy through her believing husband. If that were not the case, your children would not be pure and“ clean.” But as it is, they are holy.

You gave us your commands through your servants the prophets. You said,‘ You are entering the land to take it as your own. The sinful practices of its people have made the land impure. They have filled it with their“ unclean” acts from one end to the other. The Lord hates all their practices.So don’t let your daughters marry their sons. And don’t let their daughters marry your sons. Don’t make a peace treaty with them at any time. Then you will be strong. You will eat the good things the land produces. And you will leave all of it to your children as their share. They and their children after them will enjoy it forever.’
