The disciples, as each one was able, decided to provide help for the brothers and sisters living in Judea.

So the believers in Antioch decided to send relief to the brothers and sisters in Judea, everyone giving as much as they could.

According to their ability they gave to the treasury of the work 61,000 darics of gold, 5,000 minas of silver, and 100 priests’ garments.

and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught a great many people. And in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said,“ I will never leave you nor forsake you.”So we can confidently say,“ The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

and said to them,“ We, as far as we are able, have bought back our Jewish brothers who have been sold to the nations, but you even sell your brothers that they may be sold to us!” They were silent and could not find a word to say.

And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried.For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them.Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.“ Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.

Now it is superfluous for me to write to you about the ministry for the saints,for I know your readiness, of which I boast about you to the people of Macedonia, saying that Achaia has been ready since last year. And your zeal has stirred up most of them.

Now the apostles and the brothers who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.

At present, however, I am going to Jerusalem bringing aid to the saints.For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make some contribution for the poor among the saints at Jerusalem.For they were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have come to share in their spiritual blessings, they ought also to be of service to them in material blessings.

Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days.Give a portion to seven, or even to eight, for you know not what disaster may happen on earth.

Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do.On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come.

And all who believed were together and had all things in common.And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.

There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold

or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;

Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies— in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
