And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,

彼得一回到耶路撒冷，嚴守割禮的門徒就指責他：

可是當彼得上到耶路撒冷的時候，那些割禮派的人卻批評他，

及彼得上耶路撒冷、奉割者與之爭、

彼得上耶路撒冷、奉割禮者詰之、

彼得上耶路撒冷、受割禮者責之、

惟伯鐸祿至耶路撒冷時割禮中人指責之曰：

So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers criticized him

Peter went up to Jerusalem. There the Jewish believers found fault with him.

So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcision party criticized him, saying,

But when Peter arrived back in Jerusalem, the Jewish believers criticized him.

When Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcision party criticized him,

And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, the Jewish believers took issue with him,

And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision contended with him,

And they of the circumcision that believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit.

And they, when they heard it, glorified God; and they said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of them that have believed; and they are all zealous for the law:and they have been informed concerning thee, that thou teachest all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.What is it therefore? they will certainly hear that thou art come.Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men that have a vow on them;

And certain men came down from Judæa and taught the brethren, saying, Except ye be circumcised after the custom of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

Now on the morrow, as they were on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour:

But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees who believed, saying, It is needful to circumcise them, and to charge them to keep the law of Moses.

For before that certain came from James, he ate with the Gentiles; but when they came, he drew back and separated himself, fearing them that were of the circumcision.And the rest of the Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that even Barnabas was carried away with their dissimulation.But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Cephas before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest as do the Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, how compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
