Then I remembered what the Lord had said:‘ John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

我就想起主所说的话：‘约翰用水施洗，但你们要受圣灵的洗。’

我就想起了主如此说的话，‘约翰用水施洗，但你们将要受圣灵的洗。’

我就想起主的話說：『約翰是用水施洗，但你們要受聖靈的洗。』

我就想起主的話如何說：『約翰用水施洗，但你們要在聖靈裏受洗。』

我就想起主的話如何說：『約翰用水施洗，但你們要在聖靈裏受洗。』

我就想起主的話，『約翰用水施洗，但你們要受聖靈的洗禮。』

我就想起主所說的話：‘約翰用水施洗，但你們要受聖靈的洗。’

我就想起主的話，他怎樣說：「約翰施洗是用水的，但你們呢、卻要在聖靈裏受洗。」

我就想起了主如此說的話，『約翰用水施洗，但你們將要受聖靈的洗。』

我遂憶主言曰、約翰固以水施洗、惟爾曹將受洗於聖神焉、

我即憶主言、約翰固以水施洗、惟爾曹將受洗於聖神也、

我即憶主言曰、約翰施洗以水、惟爾曹將受洗於聖神、

予乃憶主之言曰：「如望以水施洗、而爾等將受聖神之洗焉。」

Then I remembered the Lord’s words.‘ John baptized with water,’ he had said.‘ But you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said,‘ John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

Then I thought of the Lord’s words when he said,‘ John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said,‘ John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say,‘ John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said,‘ John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said,‘ John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

And I remembered the word of the Lord, as he used to say,‘ John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said,‘ John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.’

For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

and asked them,“ Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered,“ No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”So Paul asked,“ Then what baptism did you receive?”“ John’s baptism,” they replied.Paul said,“ John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”

John answered them all,“ I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you, I will make known to you my teachings.

“ I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body— whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free— and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams.Some will say,‘ I belong to the Lord’; others will call themselves by the name of Jacob; still others will write on their hand,‘ The Lord’s,’ and will take the name Israel.

Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking.

“ And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.

I have told you this, so that when their time comes you will remember that I warned you about them. I did not tell you this from the beginning because I was with you,

“ In that day the mountains will drip new wine, and the hills will flow with milk; all the ravines of Judah will run with water. A fountain will flow out of the Lord’s house and will water the valley of acacias.

I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols.

“ I baptize with water,” John replied,“ but among you stands one you do not know.

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said:‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Then they remembered his words.

And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me,‘ The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’

he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,
