“ Surely no one can keep these people from being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.”

于是彼得说：“这些人既受了圣灵，与我们一样，谁能禁止用水给他们施洗呢？”

“这些人既受了圣灵，跟我们一样，谁能阻止用水给他们施洗呢？”

“这些人既受了圣灵，跟我们一样，谁能阻止用水给他们施洗呢？”

“既然这些人已经和我们一样领受了圣灵，谁能阻止他们接受洗礼呢？”

“这些人既然领受了圣灵，跟我们一样，谁能禁止他们受水的洗礼呢？”

“这些人就像我们一样也领受了圣灵，到底谁能阻止用水给他们施洗呢？”

於是彼得說：「這些人既受了聖靈，與我們一樣，誰能禁止用水給他們施洗呢？」

「這些人既受了聖靈，跟我們一樣，誰能阻止用水給他們施洗呢？」

「這些人既受了聖靈，跟我們一樣，誰能阻止用水給他們施洗呢？」

「既然這些人已經和我們一樣領受了聖靈，誰能阻止他們接受洗禮呢？」

“這些人既然領受了聖靈，跟我們一樣，誰能禁止他們受水的洗禮呢？”

於是彼得應時說：『這些人既受了聖靈跟我們一樣，誰能攔阻他們不受水的洗禮呢？』

「這些人就像我們一樣也領受了聖靈，到底誰能阻止用水給他們施洗呢？」

彼得曰、斯人既受聖神如我儕然、以水與之施洗、孰能禁之、

彼得曰、此人既受聖神、如我儕然、以水施洗、孰能禦之、

彼得曰、此人既受聖神、如我儕然、則以水施之洗禮、孰能禁之乎、

於是伯鐸祿曰：『彼等既領聖神、與吾儕無異、孰能禁水而不為施洗耶？』

“ Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.”

“ Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”

“ Can anyone object to their being baptized, now that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did?”

“ Can anyone withhold water and prevent these people from being baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”

“ Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?”

“ Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”

Can any man forbid the water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we?

“ Can anyone withhold water and prevent these people from being baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”

Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

“ No one can withhold the water for these people to be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?”

“ Can anyone forbid these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just like us.”

As they traveled along the road, they came to some water. The official said,“ Look! Here is water! What can stop me from being baptized?”

But Philip announced the good news of God’s kingdom and the name of Jesus Christ. So men and women believed and were baptized.

There is no difference between those who are Jews and those who are not. The same Lord is Lord of all. He richly blesses everyone who calls on him.

God knows the human heart. By giving the Holy Spirit to the Gentiles, he showed that he accepted them. He did the same for them as he had done for us.God showed that there is no difference between us and them. That’s because he made their hearts pure because of their faith.

Abraham was 99 years old when he was circumcised.His son Ishmael was 13.Abraham and his son Ishmael were both circumcised on that same day.

All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit. They began to speak in languages they had not known before. The Spirit gave them the ability to do this.

“ As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them. He came just as he had come on us at the beginning.Then I remembered the Lord’s words.‘ John baptized with water,’ he had said.‘ But you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’God gave them the same gift he gave those of us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. So who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?”

He was circumcised as a sign of the covenant God had made with him. It showed that his faith had made him right with God before he was circumcised. So Abraham is the father of all believers who have not been circumcised. God accepts their faith. So their faith makes them right with him.
