彼得就請他們進來，招待了他們。第二天，他起身與他們一同去，還有一些約帕的弟兄陪他一起去。

彼得對他們說：「你們應當悔改，每個人都當奉耶穌基督的名受洗，使你們的罪得赦免，就會領受所賜的聖靈。

所以你們當記住：從前，你們照著肉體說是外邦人，被那些所謂「受割禮的」稱為「沒受割禮的」；割禮是人手在肉體上所行的。

我們生來是猶太人，不是「外邦中的罪人」，

我一開始講話，聖靈就降臨在他們身上，就像當初降臨在我們身上一樣。我就想起了主如此說的話，『約翰用水施洗，但你們將要受聖靈的洗。』因此，神如果給了他們這相同的恩賜，就像在我們信靠主耶穌基督的時候也給了我們一樣，那麼，我是誰呢？難道能攔阻神嗎？」他們聽了這些話就安靜下來，然後就榮耀神，說：「這樣，神把悔改的心也賜給外邦人，使他們得生命。」

你們從前在自己的過犯和沒有受割禮的肉體中是死的，神卻使你們與基督一同活過來了。神已經赦免了我們的一切過犯，抹去了在敵對我們的那些規條中反對我們的債務記錄，並且把它從中除掉，釘在十字架上。

基督替我們成了詛咒，從律法的詛咒中救贖了我們，因為經上記著：「凡是被掛在木頭上的，都是被詛咒的。」這是為了讓亞伯拉罕所蒙的祝福，能在基督耶穌裡臨到外邦人，好使我們能藉著信領受所應許的聖靈。

他被高舉在神的右邊，從父領受了所應許的聖靈，就將聖靈傾注了下來。這正是你們現在所看見所聽見的。

這奧祕在別的各世代並不顯明給人類，不像如今藉著聖靈啟示給了他的聖使徒和先知們。這奧祕就是：外邦人在基督耶穌裡，藉著福音，成為共同的繼承人，同屬一體、同蒙應許。我成了這福音的僕人，是照著神恩典的賞賜；這賞賜是照著他大能的作為賜給我的。我在所有聖徒中，比最小的還小，但被賜予了這恩典，是為了把基督那無法測度的豐盛傳給外邦人；

說：「你竟然進到沒有受割禮之人的家裡，又與他們一起吃飯。」
