那些受了割禮、跟彼得一同來的信徒，因為聖靈的恩賜（“恩賜”或譯：“恩賞”）也澆灌在外族人的身上，都很驚訝；

彼得就請他們進去，留他們住下。第二天，彼得動身跟他們一同去，另有約帕的幾位弟兄同行。

彼得說：“你們應當悔改，並且每一個人都要奉耶穌基督的名受洗，使你們的罪得赦，就必領受聖靈，那白白的恩典。

你們應當記得，你們從前按肉體來說是外族人；那些所謂在肉體上受過人手所行的割禮的人，稱你們為未受割禮的。

我們生來是猶太人，不是外族中的罪人；

我一開始講話，聖靈就降在他們身上，正像當初降在我們身上一樣。我就想起主所說的話：‘約翰用水施洗，但你們要受聖靈的洗。’神既然把同樣的恩賜（“恩賜”或譯：“恩賞”）給他們，像給我們這些信了主耶穌基督的人一樣，我是誰，我能夠阻止神嗎？”眾人聽見這些話，就默然無聲，把榮耀歸給神，說：“這樣看來，神也把悔改的心賜給外族人，使他們得生命。”

你們因著過犯和肉體未受割禮，原是死的，然而神赦免了我們的一切過犯，使你們與基督一同活過來，塗抹了那寫在規條上反對我們、與我們為敵的字句，並且把這字句從我們中間拿去，釘在十字架上。

基督替我們受了咒詛，就救贖我們脫離了律法的咒詛，因為經上記著：“凡掛在木頭上的，都是受咒詛的。”這樣，亞伯拉罕所蒙的福，就在耶穌基督裡臨到外族人，使我們因著信，可以領受所應許的聖靈。

他既然被高舉到神的右邊，從父領受了所應許的聖靈，就把他澆灌下來，這就是你們所看見所聽見的。

這奧祕在以前的世代並沒有讓世人知道，不像現在藉著聖靈啟示了聖使徒和先知那樣。這奧祕就是外族人在基督耶穌裡，藉著福音可以同作後嗣，同為一體，同蒙應許。我作了福音的僕役，是照著神的恩賜（“恩賜”或譯：“恩賞”）；這恩賜是按著他大能的作為賜給我的。我本來比聖徒中最小的還小，神還是賜給我這恩典，要我把基督那測不透的豐富傳給外族人，

說：“你竟然到未受割禮的人那裡，跟他們一起吃飯！”
