那些受了割礼、跟彼得一同来的信徒，因为圣灵的恩赐（“恩赐”或译：“恩赏”）也浇灌在外族人的身上，都很惊讶；

彼得就请他们进去，留他们住下。第二天，彼得动身跟他们一同去，另有约帕的几位弟兄同行。

彼得说：“你们应当悔改，并且每一个人都要奉耶稣基督的名受洗，使你们的罪得赦，就必领受圣灵，那白白的恩典。

你们应当记得，你们从前按肉体来说是外族人；那些所谓在肉体上受过人手所行的割礼的人，称你们为未受割礼的。

我们生来是犹太人，不是外族中的罪人；

我一开始讲话，圣灵就降在他们身上，正像当初降在我们身上一样。我就想起主所说的话：‘约翰用水施洗，但你们要受圣灵的洗。’神既然把同样的恩赐（“恩赐”或译：“恩赏”）给他们，像给我们这些信了主耶稣基督的人一样，我是谁，我能够阻止神吗？”众人听见这些话，就默然无声，把荣耀归给神，说：“这样看来，神也把悔改的心赐给外族人，使他们得生命。”

你们因着过犯和肉体未受割礼，原是死的，然而神赦免了我们的一切过犯，使你们与基督一同活过来，涂抹了那写在规条上反对我们、与我们为敌的字句，并且把这字句从我们中间拿去，钉在十字架上。

基督替我们受了咒诅，就救赎我们脱离了律法的咒诅，因为经上记着：“凡挂在木头上的，都是受咒诅的。”这样，亚伯拉罕所蒙的福，就在耶稣基督里临到外族人，使我们因着信，可以领受所应许的圣灵。

他既然被高举到神的右边，从父领受了所应许的圣灵，就把他浇灌下来，这就是你们所看见所听见的。

这奥秘在以前的世代并没有让世人知道，不像现在藉着圣灵启示了圣使徒和先知那样。这奥秘就是外族人在基督耶稣里，藉着福音可以同作后嗣，同为一体，同蒙应许。我作了福音的仆役，是照着神的恩赐（“恩赐”或译：“恩赏”）；这恩赐是按着他大能的作为赐给我的。我本来比圣徒中最小的还小，神还是赐给我这恩典，要我把基督那测不透的丰富传给外族人，

说：“你竟然到未受割礼的人那里，跟他们一起吃饭！”
