When the great crowd heard all that he was doing, they came to him.And he told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, lest they crush him,for he had healed many, so that all who had diseases pressed around him to touch him.And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out,“ You are the Son of God.”

And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon.And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying,“ Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.”But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying,“ Send her away, for she is crying out after us.”He answered,“ I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”But she came and knelt before him, saying,“ Lord, help me.”And he answered,“ It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”She said,“ Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.”Then Jesus answered her,“ O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly.Jesus went on from there and walked beside the Sea of Galilee. And he went up on the mountain and sat down there.And great crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute, and many others, and they put them at his feet, and he healed them,so that the crowd wondered, when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled healthy, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.

“ As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.”

So he gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out and entered the pigs; and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the sea.The herdsmen fled and told it in the city and in the country. And people came to see what it was that had happened.And they came to Jesus and saw the demon-possessed man, the one who had had the legion, sitting there, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid.

And when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the servant well.Soon afterward he went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a great crowd went with him.As he drew near to the gate of the town, behold, a man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow, and a considerable crowd from the town was with her.And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her,“ Do not weep.”Then he came up and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said,“ Young man, I say to you, arise.”And the dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother.Fear seized them all, and they glorified God, saying,“ A great prophet has arisen among us!” and“ God has visited his people!”And this report about him spread through the whole of Judea and all the surrounding country.

And they went on to another village.
