In those days John the Baptist came into the wilderness of Judea proclaiming,“ Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”For he is the one about whom Isaiah the prophet had spoken:“ The voice of one shouting in the wilderness,‘ Prepare the way for the Lord, make his paths straight.’”

But they persisted in saying,“ He incites the people by teaching throughout all Judea. It started in Galilee and ended up here!”

Now after John was imprisoned, Jesus went into Galilee and proclaimed the gospel of God.He said,“ The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the gospel!”

For the king knows about these things, and I am speaking freely to him, because I cannot believe that any of these things has escaped his notice, for this was not done in a corner.

Now when Jesus knew that the Pharisees had heard that he was winning and baptizing more disciples than John( although Jesus himself was not baptizing, but his disciples were),he left Judea and set out once more for Galilee.
