This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel— that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.

You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.

Jesus came and told his disciples,“ I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.

“ So let everyone in Israel know for certain that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, to be both Lord and Messiah!”

Together they will go to war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will defeat them because he is Lord of all lords and King of all kings. And his called and chosen and faithful ones will be with him.”

For the Scriptures say,“ God has put all things under his authority.”( Of course, when it says“ all things are under his authority,” that does not include God himself, who gave Christ his authority.)

On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.

Now Christ has gone to heaven. He is seated in the place of honor next to God, and all the angels and authorities and powers accept his authority.

“ My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead,“ Come back to God!”For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

You are the children of those prophets, and you are included in the covenant God promised to your ancestors. For God said to Abraham,‘ Through your descendants all the families on earth will be blessed.’When God raised up his servant, Jesus, he sent him first to you people of Israel, to bless you by turning each of you back from your sinful ways.”

Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. You rule with a scepter of justice.

“ Look! I am sending my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. Then the Lord you are seeking will suddenly come to his Temple. The messenger of the covenant, whom you look for so eagerly, is surely coming,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Give your love of justice to the king, O God, and righteousness to the king’s son.Help him judge your people in the right way; let the poor always be treated fairly.May the mountains yield prosperity for all, and may the hills be fruitful.

Consult together, argue your case. Get together and decide what to say. Who made these things known so long ago? What idol ever told you they would happen? Was it not I, the Lord? For there is no other God but me, a righteous God and Savior. There is none but me.Let all the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other.I have sworn by my own name; I have spoken the truth, and I will never go back on my word: Every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will declare allegiance to me.”The people will declare,“ The Lord is the source of all my righteousness and strength.” And all who were angry with him will come to him and be ashamed.In the Lord all the generations of Israel will be justified, and in him they will boast.

Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven.

The Father loves his Son and has put everything into his hands.And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”

And when he brought his supreme Son into the world, God said,“ Let all of God’s angels worship him.”Regarding the angels, he says,“ He sends his angels like the winds, his servants like flames of fire.”But to the Son he says,“ Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. You rule with a scepter of justice.You love justice and hate evil. Therefore, O God, your God has anointed you, pouring out the oil of joy on you more than on anyone else.”He also says to the Son,“ In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands.They will perish, but you remain forever. They will wear out like old clothing.You will fold them up like a cloak and discard them like old clothing. But you are always the same; you will live forever.”

“ And now we are here to bring you this Good News. The promise was made to our ancestors,

I am the living one. I died, but look— I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.

But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups.Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.He brought this Good News of peace to you Gentiles who were far away from him, and peace to the Jews who were near.Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us.

Now may the God of peace— who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood—

Then Abraham took a tenth of all he had captured in battle and gave it to Melchizedek. The name Melchizedek means“ king of justice,” and king of Salem means“ king of peace.”There is no record of his father or mother or any of his ancestors— no beginning or end to his life. He remains a priest forever, resembling the Son of God.

May all the godly flourish during his reign. May there be abundant prosperity until the moon is no more.

Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, so our land will be filled with his glory.Unfailing love and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed!

And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe.

“ For the time is coming,” says the Lord,“ when I will raise up a righteous descendant from King David’s line. He will be a King who rules with wisdom. He will do what is just and right throughout the land.And this will be his name:‘ The Lord Is Our Righteousness.’ In that day Judah will be saved, and Israel will live in safety.

Peter replied,“ Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away— all who have been called by the Lord our God.”

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything.

but only to the people of Israel— God’s lost sheep.

bringing words of praise to their lips. May they have abundant peace, both near and far,” says the Lord, who heals them.

As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence.He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal— it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed.

For your royal husband delights in your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord.

It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem:‘ There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’

All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel( which means‘ God is with us’).

But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel, whose origins are in the distant past, will come from you on my behalf.

Then God put him in the place of honor at his right hand as Prince and Savior. He did this so the people of Israel would repent of their sins and be forgiven.

The Lord said to my Lord,“ Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet.”The Lord will extend your powerful kingdom from Jerusalem; you will rule over your enemies.

Christ died and rose again for this very purpose— to be Lord both of the living and of the dead.

For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Then Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and declared,“ It was necessary that we first preach the word of God to you Jews. But since you have rejected it and judged yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we will offer it to the Gentiles.

until at last the Spirit is poured out on us from heaven. Then the wilderness will become a fertile field, and the fertile field will yield bountiful crops.Justice will rule in the wilderness and righteousness in the fertile field.And this righteousness will bring peace. Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever.

but the angel reassured them.“ Don’t be afraid!” he said.“ I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.The Savior— yes, the Messiah, the Lord— has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others— the armies of heaven— praising God and saying,“ Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

‘ The Lord said to my Lord, Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies beneath your feet.’Since David called the Messiah‘ my Lord,’ how can the Messiah be his son?”No one could answer him. And after that, no one dared to ask him any more questions.

But I will show love to the people of Judah. I will free them from their enemies— not with weapons and armies or horses and charioteers, but by my power as the Lord their God.”

Meanwhile, the believers who had been scattered during the persecution after Stephen’s death traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch of Syria. They preached the word of God, but only to Jews.

and from Jesus Christ. He is the faithful witness to these things, the first to rise from the dead, and the ruler of all the kings of the world. All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us.

that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else— not only in this world but also in the world to come.God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church.And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.

There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism,one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all.However, he has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ.That is why the Scriptures say,“ When he ascended to the heights, he led a crowd of captives and gave gifts to his people.”Notice that it says“ he ascended.” This clearly means that Christ also descended to our lowly world.And the same one who descended is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that he might fill the entire universe with himself.Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands!

As the Scriptures tell us,“ Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him.For“ Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

For the Lord declares,“ I have placed my chosen king on the throne in Jerusalem, on my holy mountain.”The king proclaims the Lord’s decree:“ The Lord said to me,‘ You are my son. Today I have become your Father.Only ask, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the whole earth as your possession.

so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him.“ I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.“ And I assure you that the time is coming, indeed it’s here now, when the dead will hear my voice— the voice of the Son of God. And those who listen will live.The Father has life in himself, and he has granted that same life giving power to his Son.And he has given him authority to judge everyone because he is the Son of Man.Don’t be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God’s Son,and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to experience eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to experience judgment.

and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
