這地方的猶太人比帖撒羅尼迦的人開明，熱心領受這道，天天查考聖經，要知道這道是否真實。所以，他們中間有許多信了，又有希臘的尊貴婦人，男人也不少。

我親愛的弟兄們，你們要明白：你們每一個人要快快地聽，慢慢地說，慢慢地動怒，

雖然你們為我身體的緣故受試煉，卻沒有輕看我，也沒有厭棄我，反倒接待我如同上帝的使者，如同基督耶穌。

聰明人的心得知識；智慧人的耳求知識。

所以，你們要除去一切的污穢和累積的惡毒，要存溫柔的心領受所栽種的道，就是能救你們靈魂的道。

所以，凡自己謙卑像這小孩子的，他在天國裏就是最大的。

智慧人聽見，增長學問，聰明人得着智謀，

所以，你們當知道，上帝這救恩已經傳給外邦人；他們會聽的。」

誰都不可自欺。你們中間若有人自以為在今世有智慧，倒不如變為愚拙，好成為有智慧的。

上帝也按手在猶大人身上，使他們一心遵行王與眾領袖照着耶和華的話所發的命令。

所以，你們要除去一切的惡毒，一切詭詐、假善、嫉妒，和一切毀謗的話。要愛慕那純淨的靈奶，像初生的嬰孩愛慕奶一樣，好使你們藉着它成長，以致得救，

我實在告訴你們，凡要接受上帝國的，若不像小孩子，絕不能進去。」

智慧人的勸戒在順從的人耳中，好像金環和金首飾。

現在這大火將要吞滅我們，我們何必死呢？若再聽見耶和華我們上帝的聲音，我們就必死。凡血肉之軀，有誰像我們一樣，聽見了永生上帝從火中講話的聲音還能活着呢？求你近前去，聽耶和華－我們上帝所要說的一切話，將耶和華－我們上帝對你說的話都傳給我們，我們就聽從遵行。』「你們對我說的話，耶和華都聽見了。耶和華對我說：『這百姓對你說的話，我聽見了；他們所說的都對。惟願他們存這樣的心敬畏我，常遵守我一切的誡命，使他們和他們的子孫永遠得福。

教導智慧人，他就越有智慧，指示義人，他就增長學問。敬畏耶和華是智慧的開端，認識至聖者便是聰明。

為此，我們也不斷地感謝上帝，因為你們聽見我們所傳上帝的道的時候，你們領受了，不以為這是人的道，而以為這確實是上帝的道，而且在你們信主的人當中運行着。

然而，有許多在前的，將要在後；在後的，將要在前。」
