这地方的犹太人比帖撒罗尼迦的人开明，热心领受这道，天天查考圣经，要知道这道是否真实。所以，他们中间有许多信了，又有希腊的尊贵妇人，男人也不少。

我亲爱的弟兄们，你们要明白：你们每一个人要快快地听，慢慢地说，慢慢地动怒，

虽然你们为我身体的缘故受试炼，却没有轻看我，也没有厌弃我，反倒接待我如同上帝的使者，如同基督耶稣。

聪明人的心得知识；智慧人的耳求知识。

所以，你们要除去一切的污秽和累积的恶毒，要存温柔的心领受所栽种的道，就是能救你们灵魂的道。

所以，凡自己谦卑像这小孩子的，他在天国里就是最大的。

智慧人听见，增长学问，聪明人得着智谋，

所以，你们当知道，上帝这救恩已经传给外邦人；他们会听的。”

谁都不可自欺。你们中间若有人自以为在今世有智慧，倒不如变为愚拙，好成为有智慧的。

上帝也按手在犹大人身上，使他们一心遵行王与众领袖照着耶和华的话所发的命令。

所以，你们要除去一切的恶毒，一切诡诈、假善、嫉妒，和一切毁谤的话。要爱慕那纯净的灵奶，像初生的婴孩爱慕奶一样，好使你们藉着它成长，以致得救，

我实在告诉你们，凡要接受上帝国的，若不像小孩子，绝不能进去。”

智慧人的劝戒在顺从的人耳中，好像金环和金首饰。

现在这大火将要吞灭我们，我们何必死呢？若再听见耶和华我们上帝的声音，我们就必死。凡血肉之躯，有谁像我们一样，听见了永生上帝从火中讲话的声音还能活着呢？求你近前去，听耶和华—我们上帝所要说的一切话，将耶和华—我们上帝对你说的话都传给我们，我们就听从遵行。’“你们对我说的话，耶和华都听见了。耶和华对我说：‘这百姓对你说的话，我听见了；他们所说的都对。惟愿他们存这样的心敬畏我，常遵守我一切的诫命，使他们和他们的子孙永远得福。

教导智慧人，他就越有智慧，指示义人，他就增长学问。敬畏耶和华是智慧的开端，认识至圣者便是聪明。

为此，我们也不断地感谢上帝，因为你们听见我们所传上帝的道的时候，你们领受了，不以为这是人的道，而以为这确实是上帝的道，而且在你们信主的人当中运行着。

然而，有许多在前的，将要在后；在后的，将要在前。”
