Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.

But even though my condition tempted you to reject me, you did not despise me or turn me away. No, you took me in and cared for me as though I were an angel from God or even Christ Jesus himself.

Intelligent people are always ready to learn. Their ears are open for knowledge.

So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.

So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance

Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world’s standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise.

To one who listens, valid criticism is like a gold earring or other gold jewelry.

But now, why should we risk death again? Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God— which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe.

But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then.
