這裏的人比在帖撒羅尼迦的高尚；他們很熱心地接受這道，天天考查經典、看這些事是不是這樣。所以他們中間有許多人相信，也有好些希利尼的高貴婦女，男人也不少。

我親愛的弟兄們，你們要明白。各人要敏於聽，不要急於說，不要急於發怒。

但我肉身上那試探你們輕看的、你們並沒有藐視，也沒有唾棄；你們反倒接待我如同上帝的使者、如同基督耶穌一樣。

明達人的心獲得知識；智慧人的耳求聽知識。

所以你們既脫去了一切垢污和滋生蔓延的惡毒，就該以柔和之心接受那釘根在你們心裏的道、那能救你們、的道。

所以凡自己謙卑像這個小孩子的，他在天國裏就是最大的。

智慧人聽了，可以增長心得；明達人聽了，可以獲得技能，

所以你們要知道、上帝這拯救已經傳送給外國人了；他們倒要聽。』

誰都別自欺了！你們中間若有人自以為在今世有智慧，他就應當變為愚拙，好成為有智慧。

上帝的手也用力在猶大中、使猶大人一心遵行王和大臣們憑永恆主的話所發的命令。

所以你們既脫去了一切惡毒、一切詭詐裝假和嫉妒、以及一切毁謗的事，就該切慕心神之純淨奶子，像才生的嬰兒切慕奶子一樣，使你們靠着這個而長大、以至於得救。

我實在告訴你們，凡不像小孩子接受上帝國的，一定不能進入。』

智慧人的勸責在聽從的人耳中、如金耳環或黃金的妝飾品。

現在這大火將要燒滅我們，我們又何必冒死呢？我們若再聽見永恆主我們的上帝的聲音，就會死的。因為血肉之人誰曾聽見過永活的上帝從火中說話的聲音，像我們聽見了，還能活着呢？如今只求你，你走近前去，聽永恆主我們的上帝所要說的一切話，然後你、將永恆主我們的上帝所對你說的一切話、對我們說，我們就聽從、就遵行。」『你們對我說話的時候、你們說話的話意、永恆主都聽出來了；永恆主就對我說：「這人民對你說話、其話意我都聽出來了；他們所說的、都說得對。惟願他們常存着這樣的心，日日不斷地敬畏我，守我一切的誡命，使他們和他們的子孫永遠平安順遂。

施教於智慧人，他就越發有智慧；將知識傳給義人，他就增加心得。敬畏永恆主是智慧的總綱；認識至聖者便是明達。

為了這緣故、我們就不住地感謝上帝，因為你們從我們領受了所聽的上帝之道；你們接受了，不認為是人之道，乃認為是上帝之道，也真地是：並且在你們信的人身上運用着動力呢。

然而有許多首先的必成了末後的，末後的必成了首先的！
