这地方的人贤于帖撒罗尼迦的人，甘心领受这道，天天考查圣经，要晓得这道是与不是。所以他们中间多有相信的，又有希腊尊贵的妇女，男子也不少。

我亲爱的弟兄们，这是你们所知道的。但你们各人要快快地听，慢慢地说，慢慢地动怒，

你们为我身体的缘故受试炼，没有轻看我，也没有厌弃我，反倒接待我，如同神的使者，如同基督耶稣。

聪明人的心得知识；智慧人的耳求知识。

所以，你们要脱去一切的污秽和盈余的邪恶，存温柔的心领受那所栽种的道，就是能救你们灵魂的道。

所以，凡自己谦卑像这小孩子的，他在天国里就是最大的。

使智慧人听见，增长学问，使聪明人得着智谋，

所以你们当知道，神这救恩，如今传给外邦人，他们也必听受。”

人不可自欺。你们中间若有人在这世界自以为有智慧，倒不如变作愚拙，好成为有智慧的。

神也感动犹大人，使他们一心遵行王与众首领凭耶和华之言所发的命令。

所以，你们既除去一切的恶毒、诡诈，并假善、嫉妒，和一切毁谤的话，就要爱慕那纯净的灵奶，像才生的婴孩爱慕奶一样，叫你们因此渐长，以致得救。

我实在告诉你们，凡要承受神国的，若不像小孩子，断不能进去。”

智慧人的劝戒，在顺从的人耳中，好像金耳环和精金的妆饰。

现在这大火将要烧灭我们，我们何必冒死呢？若再听见耶和华我们神的声音就必死亡。凡属血气的，曾有何人听见永生神的声音从火中出来，像我们听见还能存活呢？求你近前去，听耶和华我们神所要说的一切话，将他对你说的话都传给我们，我们就听从遵行。’“你们对我说的话，耶和华都听见了。耶和华对我说：‘这百姓的话，我听见了；他们所说的都是。惟愿他们存这样的心敬畏我，常遵守我的一切诫命，使他们和他们的子孙永远得福。

教导智慧人，他就越发有智慧；指示义人，他就增长学问。敬畏耶和华是智慧的开端；认识至圣者便是聪明。

为此，我们也不住地感谢神，因你们听见我们所传神的道就领受了；不以为是人的道，乃以为是神的道。这道实在是神的，并且运行在你们信主的人心中。

然而，有许多在前的，将要在后；在后的，将要在前。”
