有一天，约在下午三点钟，他在异象中清楚看见上帝的一个使者进来，到他那里，对他说：“哥尼流。”

彼得就请他们进去住宿。次日，他起身和他们同去，还有约帕的几个弟兄跟他一起去。又次日，他进入凯撒利亚，哥尼流已经请了他的亲朋好友在等候他们。

他升上去的时候，他们定睛望天，看哪，有两个人身穿白衣站在他们旁边，

我正说话、祷告，承认我的罪和我百姓以色列的罪，为我上帝的圣山，在耶和华—我的上帝面前恳求；我正在祷告中说话，先前在异象中所见的那位加百列，约在献晚祭的时候迅速飞到我这里来。

凡为以色列上帝言语战兢的人，都因被掳归回之人所犯的罪，聚集到我这里来。我惊惶地坐着，直到献晚祭的时候。献晚祭的时候我从愁烦中起来，穿着撕裂的衣服和外袍，双膝跪下，向耶和华—我的上帝举手，

向他说话的天使离开后，哥尼流叫了两个仆人和常伺候他的一个虔诚的兵来，把一切的事都讲给他们听，然后就派他们往约帕去。第二天，他们走路将近那城，约在正午，彼得上房顶去祷告。

他的相貌如同闪电，衣服洁白如雪。

这月二十四日，以色列人聚集禁食，他们披麻蒙灰。以色列的后裔与所有的外邦人分别出来，站着承认自己的罪和祖先的罪孽。那日的四分之一，他们站在自己的地方念耶和华—他们上帝的律法书，又在那日的四分之一认罪，敬拜耶和华—他们的上帝。

那年轻人对她们说：“不要惊慌！你们寻找那钉十字架的拿撒勒人耶稣，他已经复活了，不在这里。来看安放他的地方。

下午三点钟祷告的时候，彼得和约翰上圣殿去。

正在为这事困惑的时候，忽然有两个人站在旁边，衣服放光。
