大約白天三點，他在異象中顯然看見上帝的一個天使進來找他，對他說：『哥尼流。』

彼得便請他們進去，款待他們。第二天彼得就起身，和他們一同出發，還有屬約帕的幾個弟兄和他一同去。又第二天他就進了該撒利亞。哥尼流早已招集了他的親戚和相知的朋友，等待着他們。

他去的時候，他們正定睛望天看時、忽有兩個人穿着白衣、站在他們旁邊，

我還在說話、還在禱告、承認我的罪、和我本國人民以色列的罪；我還在為我的上帝的聖山把懇求的話呈到我的上帝面前；我還在禱告中說話的時候，我先前在異象中所見的那人加百列奉命迅速地飛來，大約在獻晚祭時候接近着我。

凡因以色列上帝為了流亡返回的人之不忠實所發出的話而震慄戰兢的人、都聚集到我面前；我呢、也逕自驚惶恐懼而坐着，直到獻晚祭的時候。獻晚祭的時候、我從刻苦卑抑的情態中起來，我的衣服和外袍都撕裂着，我屈膝跪着，向永恆主我的上帝伸開了雙手禱告，

向他說話的天使離開了之後，哥尼流便叫了兩個家僕、和常伺候他的一個敬虔的兵來，把一切事向他們述說一遍，就差遣他們往約帕去。第二天、那些人正在行路、將近那城的時候、約在中午十二點、彼得上房頂去禱告。

他的像貌如同閃電，他的衣服白得像雪。

這月二十四日、以色列人聚集攏來，大家禁食，身穿麻布，頭上放土。以色列的後裔跟一切外人的子孫分別了出來，他們都站着、承認自己的罪和他們列祖的罪愆。那天四分之一他們立在他們所站的地方，誦讀永恆主他們的上帝的律法書；又四分之一他們是認罪，敬拜永恆主他們的上帝。

那青年人對他們說：『別驚訝了；你們尋找那釘十字架的拿撒勒人耶穌；他已經活起來了；他不在這裏；請看他們安放他的地方。

彼得約翰上殿去，要守下午三點禱告的時辰。

正為這事為難的時候，忽然有兩個人站在她們旁邊，穿着閃爍的衣服。
