He said to them:“ You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean.

He said to them,“ You know that it is against our law for a Jew to enter a Gentile home. A Jew shouldn’t have any close contact with a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not say anyone is not pure and‘ clean.’

And he said to them,“ You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with or to visit anyone of another nation, but God has shown me that I should not call any person common or unclean.

Peter told them,“ You know it is against our laws for a Jewish man to enter a Gentile home like this or to associate with you. But God has shown me that I should no longer think of anyone as impure or unclean.

And he said to them,“ You yourselves know that it is forbidden for a Jewish man to associate with or visit a foreigner; and yet God has shown me that I am not to call any person unholy or unclean.

Then he said to them,“ You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

and he said unto them, Ye yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to join himself or come unto one of another nation; and yet unto me hath God showed that I should not call any man common or unclean:

He said to them,“ You know that it is unlawful for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile, yet God has shown me that I should call no person defiled or ritually unclean.

He said to them,“ You yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to join himself or come to one of another nation, but God has shown me that I shouldn’t call any man unholy or unclean.

“ How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” she asked him. For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.

The Gentiles are coheirs, members of the same body, and partners in the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.I was made a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace that was given to me by the working of his power.

And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he also did to us.He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.

Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the governor’s headquarters. It was early morning. They did not enter the headquarters themselves; otherwise they would be defiled and unable to eat the Passover.

They say,‘ Keep to yourself, don’t come near me, for I am too holy for you!’ These practices are smoke in my nostrils, a fire that burns all day long.

But a voice answered from heaven a second time,‘ What God has made clean, you must not call impure.’

Just then his disciples arrived, and they were amazed that he was talking with a woman. Yet no one said,“ What do you want?” or“ Why are you talking with her?”

For he regularly ate with the Gentiles before certain men came from James. However, when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, because he feared those from the circumcision party.Then the rest of the Jews joined his hypocrisy, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.But when I saw that they were deviating from the truth of the gospel, I told Cephas in front of everyone,“ If you, who are a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you compel Gentiles to live like Jews?”

When Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcision party criticized him,saying,“ You went to uncircumcised men and ate with them.”

“ He said to me,‘ Go, because I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”They listened to him up to this point. Then they raised their voices, shouting,“ Wipe this man off the face of the earth! He should not be allowed to live!”

Peter began to speak:“ Now I truly understand that God doesn’t show favoritism,but in every nation the person who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.

The Pharisee was standing and praying like this about himself:‘ God, I thank you that I’m not like other people— greedy, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

“ No, Lord!” Peter said.“ For I have never eaten anything impure and ritually unclean.”Again, a second time, the voice said to him,“ What God has made clean, do not call impure.”
