But Peter helped him up, saying,“ Stand up; I, too, am just a man.”

But Peter made him get up.“ Stand up,” he said,“ I am only a man myself.”

But Peter lifted him up, saying,“ Stand up; I too am a man.”

But Peter pulled him up and said,“ Stand up! I’m a human being just like you!”

Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he* said to me,“ Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brothers and sisters who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard about it, they tore their robes and rushed out into the crowd, crying outand saying,“ Men, why are you doing these things? We are also men, of the same nature as you, preaching the gospel to you, to turn from these useless things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything that is in them.

I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things.And he* said to me,“ Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brothers the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God!”

I am the Lord, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to idols.

Assuredly My hand founded the earth, And My right hand spread out the heavens; When I call to them, they stand together.

No one is to deceive you in any way! For it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,who opposes and exalts himself above every so called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

All who live on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written since the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slaughtered.

Then Jesus* said to him,“ Go away, Satan! For it is written:‘ You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’ ”
