As Jesus went on from there, He saw a man called Matthew sitting in the tax collector’s office; and He* said to him,“ Follow Me!” And he got up and followed Him.Then it happened that as Jesus was reclining at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and began dining with Jesus and His disciples.

And He did not let him, but He* said to him,“ Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you.”And he went away and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed.

And Levi gave a big reception for Him in his house; and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and other people who were reclining at the table with them.

He first* found his own brother Simon and* said to him,“ We have found the Messiah”( which translated means Christ).He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,“ You are Simon the son of John; you shall be called Cephas”( which is translated Peter).The next day He decided to go to Galilee, and He* found Philip. And Jesus* said to him,“ Follow Me.”Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.Philip* found Nathanael and* said to him,“ We have found Him of whom Moses wrote in the Law, and the prophets also wrote: Jesus the son of Joseph, from Nazareth!”Nathanael said to him,“ Can anything good be from Nazareth?” Philip* said to him,“ Come and see.”Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and* said of him,“ Here is truly an Israelite, in whom there is no deceit!”Nathanael* said to Him,“ How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him,“ Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”Nathanael answered Him,“ Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel!”

On that day,’ declares the Lord of armies,‘ every one of you will invite his neighbor to sit under his vine and under his fig tree.’ ”

“ The Lord of armies says this:‘ It will yet turn out that peoples will come, that is, the inhabitants of many cities.The inhabitants of one city will go to another, saying,“ Let’s go at once to plead for the favor of the Lord, and to seek the Lord of armies; I also will go.”So many peoples and mighty nations will come to seek the Lord of armies in Jerusalem, and to plead for the favor of the Lord.’The Lord of armies says this:‘ In those days ten people from all the nations will grasp the garment of a Jew, saying,“ Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.” ’ ”

And many peoples will come and say,“ Come, let’s go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; So that He may teach us about His ways, And that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go out from Zion And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.He was in the beginning with God.All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.

So the woman left her waterpot and went into the city, and* said to the people,“ Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done; this is not the Christ, is He?”

But Philip found himself at Azotus, and as he passed through he kept preaching the gospel to all the cities, until he came to Caesarea.
