耶穌洗完了他們的腳以後，穿上外衣，又坐下來，對他們說：「你們明白我為你們做的事嗎？

後來，彼得在約帕的一個硝皮匠西門家裡住了許多日子。

眾人又驚訝又困惑，彼此問：「這是什麼意思呢？」

當聖殿的守衛長和祭司長們聽到這些話的時候，就對使徒們的事感到困惑，不知道這事會如何發展。

有一天，大約下午三點，他在異象中清楚地看見神的一位天使來到他面前，對他說：「哥尼流！」

他們查考了自己裡面基督之靈，當他預言有關基督的苦難和此後的榮耀時，究竟指明的是什麼時候、或什麼樣的情況。
