“ Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied.“ I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”

“ No, Lord! I will not!” Peter replied.“ I have never eaten anything that is not pure and‘ clean.’ ”

But Peter said,“ By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.”

“ No, Lord,” Peter declared.“ I have never eaten anything that our Jewish laws have declared impure and unclean.”

“ No, Lord!” Peter said.“ For I have never eaten anything impure and ritually unclean.”

But Peter said,“ By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean.”

But Peter said,“ Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”

But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common and unclean.

“ No, Lord!” Peter said.“ For I have never eaten anything common and ritually unclean!”

But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

But Peter said,“ Certainly not, Lord, for I have never eaten anything defiled and ritually unclean!”

But Peter said,“ Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.”

“‘ You must therefore make a distinction between clean and unclean animals and between unclean and clean birds. Do not defile yourselves by any animal or bird or anything that moves along the ground— those that I have set apart as unclean for you. (niv)

Then I said,“ Not so, Sovereign Lord! I have never defiled myself. From my youth until now I have never eaten anything found dead or torn by wild animals. No impure meat has ever entered my mouth.” (niv)

Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.“ Never, Lord!” he said.“ This shall never happen to you!” (niv)

No! Have only the men go and worship the Lord, since that’s what you have been asking for.” Then Moses and Aaron were driven out of Pharaoh’s presence. (niv)

You are the children of the Lord your God. Do not cut yourselves or shave the front of your heads for the dead,for you are a people holy to the Lord your God.
