他被高舉在神的右邊，從父領受了所應許的聖靈，就將聖靈傾注了下來。這正是你們現在所看見所聽見的。

耶穌這話是指著信他的人所要領受的聖靈而說的。當時，聖靈還沒有臨到，因為耶穌還沒有得榮耀。

但我把真相告訴你們：我離去對你們是有益處的，因為我如果不去，慰助者就不會到你們這裡來；如果我去了，我就會派遣他到你們這裡來。他來了，要在關於罪、關於義、關於審判的事上，使世界知罪。關於罪，是因為世界不信我；關於義，是因為我到父那裡去，而你們不再看到我了；關於審判，是因為世界的那掌權者已經被定罪了。「我還有很多事要告訴你們，可是你們現在擔當不了，不過當那位真理的靈來了，他就會引導你們進入一切真理。那時，他不會憑著自己說話，只把所聽到的說出來，並且把那些就要來的事傳講給你們。他將榮耀我，因為他將從我領受，並傳講給你們。父所擁有的一切，都是我的。所以我說，聖靈將從我領受，並傳講給你們。

但那位慰助者，就是父以我的名所要派遣的聖靈，將要把一切的事教導你們，並且讓你們想起我對你們說過的一切。「我把平安留給你們，我把我的平安賜給你們。我給你們的，不像世界所給的。你們心裡不要愁煩，也不要膽怯。你們聽過我對你們說：『我去了，還要回到你們這裡來。』如果你們愛我，就會為了我到父那裡去而感到歡喜。這是因為父比我更大。

因為就在那時候，聖靈會教導你們該說的話。」

說了這話，耶穌向他們吹了一口氣，說：「領受聖靈吧！

因為說話的不是你們自己，而是你們父的靈在你們裡面說話。

所以，如果你們做為惡人也知道把好的東西給自己的兒女，更何況天上的父要賜聖靈給求他的人呢！」

不是顯現給全體民眾，而是顯現給神預先選定的見證人，就是我們這些在他從死人中復活以後，與他一起吃、一起喝的人。

他們又驚又喜，還不敢相信的時候，耶穌對他們說：「你們這裡有什麼吃的嗎？」他們遞給他一片烤魚，他拿過來，當著他們的面吃了。
