Jesus knew that the Father had given everything into his hands, that he had come from God, and that he was going back to God.

Indeed, we have all received grace upon grace from his fullness,

When the days were coming to a close for him to be taken up, he determined to journey to Jerusalem.

And while he was blessing them, he left them and was carried up into heaven.

Before the Passover Festival, Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart from this world to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with hands( only a model of the true one) but into heaven itself, so that he might now appear in the presence of God for us.

For it says: When he ascended on high, he took the captives captive; he gave gifts to people.But what does“ he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower parts of the earth?The one who descended is also the one who ascended far above all the heavens, to fill all things.

“ This is my servant; I strengthen him, this is my chosen one; I delight in him. I have put my Spirit on him; he will bring justice to the nations.

Now I am coming to you, and I speak these things in the world so that they may have my joy completed in them.

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners;

Then what if you were to observe the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?

The revelation of Jesus Christ that God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,

They said,“ Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up into heaven? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come in the same way that you have seen him going into heaven.”

God raised up this man on the third day and caused him to be seen,not by all the people, but by us whom God appointed as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be the judge of the living and the dead.

“ Let anyone who has ears to hear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.

Then he said to them,“ Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;they will pick up snakes; if they should drink anything deadly, it will not harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well.”So the Lord Jesus, after speaking to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

If I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

Paul, an apostle— not from men or by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised him from the dead—

“ Don’t cling to me,” Jesus told her,“ since I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them that I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.”

The city wall had twelve foundations, and the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb were on the foundations.

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.Jesus has entered there on our behalf as a forerunner, because he has become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth.

The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all that they had done and taught.

Jesus replied to them,“ Didn’t I choose you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil.”

As for you, stay in the city until you are empowered from on high.”

He appointed twelve, whom he also named apostles, to be with him, to send them out to preach,and to have authority to drive out demons.He appointed the Twelve: To Simon, he gave the name Peter;and to James the son of Zebedee, and to his brother John, he gave the name“ Boanerges”( that is,“ Sons of Thunder”);Andrew; Philip and Bartholomew; Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot,and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

When Jesus was baptized, he went up immediately from the water. The heavens suddenly opened for him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on him.

Summoning his twelve disciples, he gave them authority over unclean spirits, to drive them out and to heal every disease and sickness.These are the names of the twelve apostles: First, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

When daylight came, he summoned his disciples, and he chose twelve of them, whom he also named apostles:Simon, whom he also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew;Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called the Zealot;Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

And most certainly, the mystery of godliness is great: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

When they arrived, they went to the room upstairs where they were staying: Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

so that you recall the words previously spoken by the holy prophets and the command of our Lord and Savior given through your apostles.

For the one whom God sent speaks God’s words, since he gives the Spirit without measure.

“ Let anyone who has ears to hear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name is inscribed that no one knows except the one who receives it.
