奸詐、躁妄、自衒、好佚樂、不好上帝、

不信乎友、苟且自衒、樂佚樂、不愛上帝、

奸詐賣友、任意妄為、倨傲自大、專愛宴樂、不愛天主、

叛逆無信、剛愎自用、桀傲成性、不愛天主、惟愛荒逸、

treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—

They will turn against their friends. They will act without thinking. They will think they are better than others. They will love what pleases them instead of loving God.

Nevertheless, these dreamers likewise defile their flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme glorious ones.Yet Michael the archangel, when he was disputing with the Devil in a debate about Moses’ body, did not dare bring an abusive condemnation against him but said,“ The Lord rebuke you!”

For some men, who were designated for this judgment long ago, have come in by stealth; they are ungodly, turning the grace of our God into promiscuity and denying Jesus Christ, our only Master and Lord.

These people create divisions and are unbelievers, not having the Spirit.

They consider it a pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, delighting in their deceptions as they feast with you.They have eyes full of adultery and are always looking for sin. They seduce unstable people and have hearts trained in greed. Children under a curse!They have gone astray by abandoning the straight path and have followed the path of Balaam, the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousnessbut received a rebuke for his transgression: A donkey that could not talk spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophet’s irrationality.These people are springs without water, mists driven by a whirlwind. The gloom of darkness has been reserved for them.For by uttering boastful, empty words, they seduce, with fleshly desires and debauchery, people who have barely escaped from those who live in error.They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption, since people are enslaved to whatever defeats them.For if, having escaped the world’s impurity through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in these things and defeated, the last state is worse for them than the first.For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy command delivered to them.It has happened to them according to the true proverb: A dog returns to its own vomit, and,“ a sow, after washing itself, wallows in the mud.”

He must not be a new convert, or he might become conceited and fall into the condemnation of the Devil.

for such people do not serve our Lord Christ but their own appetites. They deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting with smooth talk and flattering words.

Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God, who richly provides us with all things to enjoy.
