But God raised him from the dead. He set him free from the suffering of death. It wasn’t possible for death to keep its hold on Jesus.

This will happen on the day God appoints Jesus Christ to judge people’s secret thoughts. That’s part of my good news.

So this is what we preach, whether I or the other apostles who preached to you. And that is what you believed.We have preached that Christ has been raised from the dead. So how can some of you say that no one rises from the dead?If no one rises from the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.And if Christ has not been raised, what we preach doesn’t mean anything. Your faith doesn’t mean anything either.More than that, we would be lying about God. We are witnesses that God raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if the dead are not raised.If the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either.And if Christ has not been raised, your faith doesn’t mean anything. Your sins have not been forgiven.Those who have died believing in Christ are also lost.Do we have hope in Christ only for this life? Then people should pity us more than anyone else.But Christ really has been raised from the dead. He is the first of all those who will rise from the dead.

This is the written story of the family line of Jesus the Messiah. He is the son of David. He is also the son of Abraham.

He chose you to be saved by accepting the good news that we preach. And you will share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He told them,“ This is what is written. The Messiah will suffer. He will rise from the dead on the third day.

He was buried. He was raised from the dead on the third day, just as Scripture said he would be.

The good news is about God’s Son. He was born into the family line of King David.By the Holy Spirit, he was appointed to be the mighty Son of God. God did this by raising him from the dead. He is Jesus Christ our Lord.

Brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the good news I preached to you. You received it and have put your faith in it.

Then one of the elders said to me,“ Do not cry! The Lion of the tribe of Judah has won the battle. He is the Root of David. He is able to break the seven seals and open the scroll.”

True teaching agrees with the good news about the glory of the blessed God. He trusted me with that good news.

“ From this man’s family line God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus. This is what he had promised.

Let us keep looking to Jesus. He is the one who started this journey of faith. And he is the one who completes the journey of faith. He paid no attention to the shame of the cross. He suffered there because of the joy he was looking forward to. Then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.He made it through these attacks by sinners. So think about him. Then you won’t get tired. You won’t lose hope.

I was appointed to be a messenger and an apostle to preach the good news. I am telling the truth. I’m not lying. God appointed me to be a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles.

May God receive glory. He is able to strengthen your faith. He does this in keeping with the good news and the message I preach. It is the message about Jesus Christ. This message is in keeping with the mystery hidden for a very long time.

But David was a prophet. He knew that God had made a promise to him. God had promised that he would make someone in David’s family line king after him.
