Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.

According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it.For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.

and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else’s foundation,

thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.

and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written,“ Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name.”

For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever.

For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died— more than that, who was raised— who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?

What will one answer the messengers of the nation?“ The Lord has founded Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people find refuge.”
