Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal:“ The Lord knows those who are His;” and,“ Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to keep away from wickedness.”

Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal:“ The Lord knows those who are His,” and,“ Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

Howbeit the firm foundation of God standeth, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his: and, Let every one that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.

“ I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and my own know me,

But if anyone loves God, he is known by him.

Little children, let no one deceive you. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.The one who commits sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me.I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand.My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.I and the Father are one.”

Therefore the Lord GOD said:“ Look, I have laid a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes will be unshakable.

But now, since you know God, or rather have become known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elements? Do you want to be enslaved to them all over again?

I know your works. Look, I have placed before you an open door that no one can close because you have but little power; yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

To the church of God at Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called as saints, with all those in every place who call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord— both their Lord and ours.

And don’t grieve God’s Holy Spirit. You were sealed by him for the day of redemption.

Turn away from evil, do what is good, and settle permanently.For the LORD loves justice and will not abandon his faithful ones. They are kept safe forever, but the children of the wicked will be destroyed.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age,while we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.He gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people for his own possession, eager to do good works.

Therefore, dear friends, while you wait for these things, make every effort to be found without spot or blemish in his sight, at peace.

So then, dear friends, since we have these promises, let us cleanse ourselves from every impurity of the flesh and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.

Therefore, with your minds ready for action, be sober-minded and set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance.But as the one who called you is holy, you also are to be holy in all your conduct;for it is written, Be holy, because I am holy.If you appeal to the Father who judges impartially according to each one’s work, you are to conduct yourselves in reverence during your time living as strangers.For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold,but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb.

I know where you live— where Satan’s throne is. Yet you are holding on to my name and did not deny your faith in me, even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness who was put to death among you, where Satan lives.

Then I will announce to them,‘ I never knew you. Depart from me, you lawbreakers!’

Don’t be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and turn away from evil.

For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin.

Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children,and walk in love, as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.But sexual immorality and any impurity or greed should not even be heard of among you, as is proper for saints.Obscene and foolish talking or crude joking are not suitable, but rather giving thanks.For know and recognize this: Every sexually immoral or impure or greedy person, who is an idolater, does not have an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for God’s wrath is coming on the disobedient because of these things.Therefore, do not become their partners.For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light—for the fruit of the light consists of all goodness, righteousness, and truth—testing what is pleasing to the Lord.Don’t participate in the fruitless works of darkness, but instead expose them.

so that the rest of humanity may seek the Lord— even all the Gentiles who are called by my name— declares the Lord who makes these things

According to God’s grace that was given to me, I have laid a foundation as a skilled master builder, and another builds on it. But each one is to be careful how he builds on it.For no one can lay any foundation other than what has been laid down. That foundation is Jesus Christ.

Turn away from evil and do what is good; seek peace and pursue it.

from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named.

They went out from us, but they did not belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. However, they went out so that it might be made clear that none of them belongs to us.

My aim is to preach the gospel where Christ has not been named, so that I will not build on someone else’s foundation,

Let love be without hypocrisy. Detest evil; cling to what is good.

For false messiahs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion. It cannot be shaken; it remains forever.The mountains surround Jerusalem and the LORD surrounds his people, both now and forever.

‘ What are you, great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain. And he will bring out the capstone accompanied by shouts of: Grace, grace to it!’”Then the word of the LORD came to me:“ Zerubbabel’s hands have laid the foundation of this house, and his hands will complete it. Then you will know that the LORD of Armies has sent me to you.

He said to mankind,“ The fear of the Lord— that is wisdom. And to turn from evil is understanding.”

In this way they will pronounce my name over the Israelites, and I will bless them.”

When the whirlwind passes, the wicked are no more, but the righteous are secure forever.

You who love the LORD, hate evil! He protects the lives of his faithful ones; he rescues them from the power of the wicked.

For false messiahs and false prophets will arise and will perform signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the elect.

The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on the rock.

For though her sons had not been born yet or done anything good or bad, so that God’s purpose according to election might stand—

And he has authority here from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”

“ I’m not speaking about all of you; I know those I have chosen. But the Scripture must be fulfilled: The one who eats my bread has raised his heel against me.

built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.

God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Or don’t you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah— how he pleads with God against Israel?

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.

storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of what is truly life.

and so that Gentiles may glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles, and I will sing praise to your name.

He will never be shaken. The righteous one will be remembered forever.

For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

What, then, are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?He did not even spare his own Son but gave him up for us all. How will he not also with him grant us everything?Who can bring an accusation against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies.Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the one who died, but even more, has been raised; he also is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us.Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

What answer will be given to the messengers from that nation? The LORD has founded Zion, and his oppressed people find refuge in her.

On that day”— this is the declaration of the LORD of Armies—“ I will take you, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, my servant”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ and make you like my signet ring, for I have chosen you.” This is the declaration of the LORD of Armies.

You will leave your name behind as a curse for my chosen ones, and the Lord GOD will kill you; but he will give his servants another name.

Notice the stone I have set before Joshua; on that one stone are seven eyes. I will engrave an inscription on it”— this is the declaration of the LORD of Armies—“ and I will take away the iniquity of this land in a single day.

He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. When the flood came, the river crashed against that house and couldn’t shake it, because it was well built.

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

We have become like those you never ruled, like those who did not bear your name.

By these he has given us very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire.For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge,knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with godliness,godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being useless or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.The person who lacks these things is blind and shortsighted and has forgotten the cleansing from his past sins.Therefore, brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election, because if you do these things you will never stumble.

The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to come up from the abyss and go to destruction. Those who live on the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast that was, and is not, and is to come.

The city wall had twelve foundations, and the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb were on the foundations.

and when he found him he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught large numbers. The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.

so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to seize the hope set before us.We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.
