For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. (niv)

Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. (niv)

Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist— denying the Father and the Son.No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. (niv)

I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. (niv)

Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble youand give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. (niv)

“ We are going up to Jerusalem,” he said,“ and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles, (niv)

But Peter declared,“ Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the other disciples said the same. (niv)

Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say,‘ Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. (niv)

without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved— and that by God. (niv)

Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken:“ Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly. (niv)

and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father— to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. (niv)

strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith.“ We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said. (niv)
