照著神的旨意做基督耶穌使徒的保羅，以及弟兄提摩太，致那在哥林多屬神的教會，以及在全亞該亞省所有的聖徒：

要知道，我父的旨意正是：所有看見子而信他的人都得到永恆的生命，並且在末日，我將要使他復活。」

這奧祕就是：外邦人在基督耶穌裡，藉著福音，成為共同的繼承人，同屬一體、同蒙應許。

這是基於那永恆生命的盼望，而這盼望是那不撒謊的神在亙古以前所應許的。

為此，基督做了新約的中保，藉著死贖清了人在第一個約之下的過犯，好使那些蒙召的人可以得到所應許的永恆繼業。

你們查考經文，因你們以為從中可以得到永恆的生命。其實這經文就是為我做見證的。可是你們不肯到我這裡來得生命。

認識你——獨一的真神，並認識你所差派的耶穌基督，這就是永恆的生命。

吃我肉、喝我血的人，就有永恆的生命，在末日我還要使他復活；

主耶穌神性的大能，因我們真正認識以自己的榮耀和美德召喚我們的那一位，就把一切有關生命和敬神的事都賜給了我們。藉著這榮耀和美德，他把那些又寶貴又極大的應許賜給了我們，好使你們能藉著這些應許，逃脫世上因欲望而來的衰朽，成為在神的本性上有份的人。

並且我賜給他們永恆的生命，他們絕不會滅亡，直到永遠。誰也不能把他們從我手中奪走。

照著神的旨意蒙召做基督耶穌使徒的保羅，以及弟兄索提尼，

這樣，就像罪藉著死亡掌權，恩典也照樣藉著義掌權，使人藉著我們的主耶穌基督進入永恆的生命。

「我確確實實地告訴你們：誰聽我的話，又相信派我來的那一位，誰就有永恆的生命。他不但不被定罪，而且已經出死入生了。

這就是那應許，是他所應許我們的，就是永恆的生命。

為著那將要來臨的，給自己積存美好的基礎，使他們抓住那真正的生命。

因為神的一切應許，在基督裡都成為「是」。所以，說「阿們」也是藉著基督，使榮耀藉著我們歸於神。

因為罪的工價就是死；但神的恩賜，在我們的主基督耶穌裡，卻是永恆的生命。

我保羅做基督耶穌的奴僕、蒙召的使徒，是為了神的福音被分別出來的。
