你們自己原知道該怎樣效法我們；因為我們在你們中間並沒有游手好閒，

難道我們沒有權利靠着福音而喫喝麼？難道我們沒有權利帶着信主的姊妹為妻、出入往來、像其餘的使徒與主的弟兄和磯法一樣麼？抑或是說，惟獨我和巴拿巴沒有權利不作謀生的工麼？誰當兵，自備糧餉呢？誰栽葡萄園，不喫它的果子呢？誰牧養羊羣，不喫羊羣的奶子呢？這些話、我豈是照人的意見說的呢？律法不也是這樣說麼？在摩西的律法上記着說：『牛踹穀時、你別套住牠的嘴。』難道上帝是關心於牛麼？還是特為我們說的呢？的確是為我們而寫的；因為犂田的該存着指望犂；打穀的該存着分享的指望打。我們既把屬靈的種子撒在你們中間，若從你們收成屬肉身的，是大事麼？別人在你們身上尚且分享權利，何況我們呢？然而這權利、我們總沒有用過；我們反倒凡事忍受，免得對基督的福音給予阻礙。豈不知為聖事作工的、喫殿中之物麼？侍候祭壇的、跟祭壇分物麼？主也這樣規定、叫傳布福音的靠着福音而生活。

在真道上受教的要讓施教的人在一切美好的事物上一同分享。

我們做基督的使徒、雖能居於受人尊重之地位，卻不向人求榮耀，不向你們，也不向別人；不，我們在你們中間反而溫和柔順，如同乳母撫育自己的兒女一般。

我將模範給了你們，是要叫你們照我所向你們作的去作。

你們蒙召原是為了這個，因為基督也替你們受了苦給你們留下摹樣、叫你們緊跟着他的腳蹤。

路上不要帶口袋，不要帶兩件褂子，不要帶鞋，或帶手杖；因為工人是配得其食物的。
