I know, LORD, that a person’s way of life is not his own; no one who walks determines his own steps.

If anyone is to be taken captive, into captivity he goes. If anyone is to be killed with a sword, with a sword he will be killed. This calls for endurance and faithfulness from the saints.

You are to be like people waiting for their master to return from the wedding banquet so that when he comes and knocks, they can open the door for him at once.Blessed will be those servants the master finds alert when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will get ready, have them recline at the table, then come and serve them.

It is good to wait quietly for salvation from the LORD.

as you wait for the day of God and hasten its coming. Because of that day, the heavens will be dissolved with fire and the elements will melt with heat.
