Yet don’t consider him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.

Brothers and sisters, if someone is overtaken in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual, restore such a person with a gentle spirit, watching out for yourselves so that you also won’t be tempted.

And we exhort you, brothers and sisters: warn those who are idle, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

Reject a divisive person after a first and second warning.

“ If your brother sins against you, go tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother.

Have mercy on those who waver;save others by snatching them from the fire; have mercy on others but with fear, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.

For if I boast a little too much about our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up and not for tearing you down, I will not be put to shame.

“ Do not harbor hatred against your brother. Rebuke your neighbor directly, and you will not incur guilt because of him.Do not take revenge or bear a grudge against members of your community, but love your neighbor as yourself; I am the LORD.

My brothers and sisters, if any among you strays from the truth, and someone turns him back,let that person know that whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

This punishment by the majority is sufficient for that person.As a result, you should instead forgive and comfort him. Otherwise, he may be overwhelmed by excessive grief.Therefore I urge you to reaffirm your love to him.I wrote for this purpose: to test your character to see if you are obedient in everything.Anyone you forgive, I do too. For what I have forgiven— if I have forgiven anything— it is for your benefit in the presence of Christ,

Instruct the wise, and he will be wiser still; teach the righteous, and he will learn more.

hand that one over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.

I’m not writing this to shame you, but to warn you as my dear children.

A wise correction to a receptive ear is like a gold ring or an ornament of gold.

Let the righteous one strike me— it is an act of faithful love; let him rebuke me— it is oil for my head; let me not refuse it. Even now my prayer is against the evil acts of the wicked.

This is why I am writing these things while absent, so that when I am there I may not have to deal harshly with you, in keeping with the authority the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.
