我求爾、勿輒動心驚怖、或以靈、或以言、或似由我之書、以為主之日已至、

切求兄弟、勿輒動心驚怖、或為神感、或聽人言、或展手書、似我所遺、言基督臨日伊邇、

我儕求兄弟、或有神、或有言、或有冒我名之書信、言基督降臨之日伊邇、勿輒動心、亦勿驚亂、

我懇切勸兄弟、勿輕信任何預言理論、或冒充吾人之書信、而有動於心、乃至驚惶失措、一若主臨之日、即在目前也者。

not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us— whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter— asserting that the day of the Lord has already come.

What if you receive a message that is supposed to have come from us? What if it says that the day of the Lord has already come? If it does, we ask you not to become easily upset or alarmed. Don’t be upset whether that message is spoken or written or prophesied.

not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.

Don’t be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Don’t believe them, even if they claim to have had a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us.

not to be easily upset or troubled, either by a prophecy or by a message or by a letter supposedly from us, alleging that the day of the Lord has come.

that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit, or a message, or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.

not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come.

to the end that ye be not quickly shaken from your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by epistle as from us, as that the day of the Lord is just at hand;

not to be easily upset in mind or troubled, either by a spirit or by a message or by a letter as if from us, alleging that the Day of the Lord has come.

That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, (niv)

When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. (niv)

Jesus answered:“ Watch out that no one deceives you.For many will come in my name, claiming,‘ I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. (niv)

But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them— bringing swift destruction on themselves.Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. (niv)

They will say,“ Where is this‘ coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water.By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. (niv)

“ Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it.The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread. (niv)

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. (niv)

When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.” (niv)

According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. (niv)

Stand firm, and you will win life. (niv)

For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. (niv)

“ I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say,‘ I had a dream! I had a dream!’How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds?They think the dreams they tell one another will make my people forget my name, just as their ancestors forgot my name through Baal worship. If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder,and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says,“ Let us follow other gods”( gods you have not known)“ and let us worship them,”you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul.It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.That prophet or dreamer must be put to death for inciting rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. That prophet or dreamer tried to turn you from the way the Lord your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil from among you. (niv)

I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand, which is the distinguishing mark in all my letters. This is how I write. (niv)

Now the house of David was told,“ Aram has allied itself with Ephraim”; so the hearts of Ahaz and his people were shaken, as the trees of the forest are shaken by the wind. (niv)

He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. (niv)

If a liar and deceiver comes and says,‘ I will prophesy for you plenty of wine and beer,’ that would be just the prophet for this people! (niv)

I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me.However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me— the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. (niv)

But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. (niv)
