我求爾、勿輒動心驚怖、或以靈、或以言、或似由我之書、以為主之日已至、

切求兄弟、勿輒動心驚怖、或為神感、或聽人言、或展手書、似我所遺、言基督臨日伊邇、

我儕求兄弟、或有神、或有言、或有冒我名之書信、言基督降臨之日伊邇、勿輒動心、亦勿驚亂、

我懇切勸兄弟、勿輕信任何預言理論、或冒充吾人之書信、而有動於心、乃至驚惶失措、一若主臨之日、即在目前也者。

not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us— whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter— asserting that the day of the Lord has already come.

What if you receive a message that is supposed to have come from us? What if it says that the day of the Lord has already come? If it does, we ask you not to become easily upset or alarmed. Don’t be upset whether that message is spoken or written or prophesied.

not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.

Don’t be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Don’t believe them, even if they claim to have had a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us.

not to be easily upset or troubled, either by a prophecy or by a message or by a letter supposedly from us, alleging that the day of the Lord has come.

that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit, or a message, or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.

to the end that ye be not quickly shaken from your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by epistle as from us, as that the day of the Lord is just at hand;

not to be easily upset in mind or troubled, either by a spirit or by a message or by a letter as if from us, alleging that the Day of the Lord has come.

That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,

But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet.

And Jesus answered and said to them:“ Take heed that no one deceives you.For many will come in My name, saying,‘ I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.

and saying,“ Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water.But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

“ Do not say,‘ A conspiracy,’ Concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.The Lord of hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your fear, And let Him be your dread.

You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.”

For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.

By your patience possess your souls.

“ Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.

For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

“ I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying,‘ I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Indeed they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart,who try to make My people forget My name by their dreams which everyone tells his neighbor, as their fathers forgot My name for Baal.

“ If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder,and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying,‘ Let us go after other gods’— which you have not known—‘ and let us serve them,’you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has spoken in order to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of bondage, to entice you from the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. So you shall put away the evil from your midst.

The salutation of Paul with my own hand, which is a sign in every epistle; so I write.

And it was told to the house of David, saying,“ Syria’s forces are deployed in Ephraim.” So his heart and the heart of his people were moved as the trees of the woods are moved with the wind.

who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

If a man should walk in a false spirit And speak a lie, saying,‘ I will prophesy to you of wine and drink,’ Even he would be the prattler of this people.

except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me.But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

that no one should be shaken by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we are appointed to this.

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.

Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.
